We anticipate games with promise, thus we’re rubbing our hands together nervously for Red Steel 2. Sure, we were all burned the first time around. But, hey, nobody knew what exactly the Wii remote was capable of doing. Red Steel was a console launch title: we should have smelled its stench a mile away.

In the video below the fold, Red Steel 2 creative director Jason Vandenberg talks about Ubisoft’s upcoming and colorful sequel at E3 2009. He mentions that his studio will keep the Asian feel of the first title, as well as the whole sword and gunplay thing. The key to the latter two talking points, of course, is that they will actually work this time around. Thanks, WiiMotion Plus.

This video is also available on the Nintendo Channel. So, if you’re too hip to use a silly PC browser, feel free to boot up the console and stream it. We won't make fun of you.

Ya! Watched this earlier today. Does this not look better then the conduit? I think so. The art style is what's got me most interested. If it's any good, It will be my first Wii game I have brought since Smash Bros. ,looking forward to it! :D

Those cut scenes or quick time events look good, but when you actually look at the game-play footage it looks like the same game as the first one.

Very surprised at how good the visuals for this game seem to be shaping up.

I'm glad there's developers out there trying the do what they can with the Motion Plus (although I am still a bit skeptical).

I don't believe that the finished game will look anywhere near as pretty as the pre-rendered demo I just saw. Sure would be nice, tho..

I love how they get actors and extreme lighting to make the motion plus commercials look more bad ass.

It was...ok from what I played at E3. MUCH better than The Conduit I thought. Of course, The Conduit will get showering praise because it's the Wii's "golden boy online shooter", and Red Steel 2 will probably get shat on for just local play.

@ Al3xand3r
I saw it with my own eyes - it was "ok".

I hope the controls actually work this time around.

You really get worked up over every single Nintendo Wii release, don't you.

I saw it, un-doctored, you didn't. Why are you getting worked up?

"What are you on about I didn't even talk to you and you reffered to me for no reason"
You said "@Magnalon" in Comment 12! It's 3 above the one you just posted!

So you can reply to everyone else incessantly, but I can't voice my opinion one time?

Comedy gold: but not as funny as being called a "moron" by someone who can barely type.
