Breaking: Microsoft to host keynote at Tokyo Game Show 2008 photo

Maybe they're not anywhere near in the lead over in Japan, but that's not stopping Microsoft from hosting the keynote at this year's Tokyo Game Show 2008.

The keynote will be hosted by Microsoft Corporate Vice President of LIVE, Software and Sales, John Schappert on Thursday, October 9 at noon. Called "A Canvas for the World," Schappert will focus "at how Xbox 360 will bring more people together than ever before to enjoy the next wave of interactive entertainment experiences."

We'll be bringing you all of the coverage from Tokyo Game Show this year, so keep your eyes here for live coverage of the Microsoft keynote this October.

This is really pissing me off; why are they trying to appeal to non-gamers and casual gamers?
They will end up isolating the real gamers that made them who they are, and our culture will be shitted upon.

Wow, on Sony's home turf even. This should be interesting.

They seem to realize they can do both. They're releasing You're In The Movies and Gears. They're not going all Wii on us. I think you can relax.

They just held a keynote in Tokyo, right? Where they unveiled Ninja Blade. That was pretty silly they discussed things they found Japan hated (emphasis on shooting in Lost Planet, black humor in Dead Rising) and announced GTA4 in the next breath. They don't seem to get it, still.

I hope they have something new (as in new game) to show.

Wise choice. The only way to remain competitive, is to keep on truckin'. It's not like MS can't afford it.

Danmartigan - First off...it's Nintendo's home turf. They are the leader in Japan by far.

Cartman - I'm a hardcore gamer myself. There is plenty of room for casual games and hardcore games. MS will never go the way of nintendo, but they need to be able to compete. The more 360 owners there are the more games 360 owners get...simple logic.

Bringing people together?? Yeah, they mean 360 owners with MS customer service representatives ahaha!!! RROD amirite!?

Really, it's a smart move on Microsoft's part. Maybe now they won't have to release a new JRPG every week in Japan to stay competitive.

No, CelicaCrazed, youarwronge. Actually, most of the RRODing has been cleared up. Now, how old those Vesparia-day 360's were kinda worries me. But then, I might have a skewed perspective on how much stock they kept and how often they sold-through it.
