Seriously, why did nobody tell me that the villain is called Lord Agony? I'd have paid attention to Lock's Quest a lot sooner if THQ had done me the honors. Lord Agony and his Clockwork Army is, without hyperbole, the greatest force of evil I have ever seen in a videogame. I am convinced the game can't fail with a villain like that.

These new trailers for the DS title explain the world of Lock's Quest in all its tinkering glory. The above video shows you how to build your defenses for battles against Lord Agony (he's called Lord Agony!), while the post-jump vid shows off the battle system. The use of stylus minigames to pull off special attacks is interesting, though it might get tiring after a while. Hopefully the variety of the attacks keeps things fresh.

Anyway, the game is already out in the States I'm told, so if anybody's checked it out, let me know. For European chaps like me, the little bugger's out on September 26. Huzzah.

The game's out, I bought it. It is super-awesome. It's basically a deep defend your castle but you get to fight as well. You build forts, place traps and turrets and at some point I haven't got to yet you get some defenders.

Uh...upcoming? It's out. I've been playing it for the past week. It's really good; I was planning on writing a mini-review of it in my blog at some point.

Goofy narrator aside, that game actually looks pretty cool. Sort of like an updated Rampart. Speaking of which, when am I going to get to play an updated Rampart?

Did you know Paul Robertson (as in Pirate Baby's Cabana Battle Street Fight 2006 creator Paul Robertson) worked on the animations and sprites for this game?

Just throwing that little chestnut of info out there :)

"Uh...upcoming? It's out."

It's upcoming if you're British, like me. I neglected to make that clear. Now it is clear.

I can't wait to play this game :). I don't give a shit if it's out or not, I'm not playing it yet so I can't wait until I am.

Lord Agony looks like a failed Doctor Doom. I think I might pick this up.

That was some spectacularly bad narration. And Lord Agony looks less like a failed Doctor Doom than a cross between an evil C3PO and Little Red Riding Hood.

The gameplay is fantastic. This game is made by the same developers that did Drawn to Life, and Lock's Quest is definitely the answer to complaints that Drawn to Life was too kiddy. I haven't played a lot of handheld games lately, but this one sucked me right in.

@JonDarkwood really? I thought drawn to life sucked, but lock's quest is really fun- I have been playing it for a week or so and really like it- though it is going on hold for a bit for the force unleashed on psp so far as portables go

The question is: Are there zombies in Lord Agony's Clockwork army?

Sounds like a good concept. If this is anywhere near as good as something like Dark Chronicle, I'm sold. :O)

There is another trailer that was released: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r6PaQSJpiC8

I'm excited to see what the multiplayer will be like for Lock's Quest!
