Quantcast

Listen up, agents, here is your summer plan -- you're going to be playing Ruffian's Crackdown 2. The game is set to ship to North American store shelves on July 6. Asia, Australia, and New Zealand will see the game on July 8. Europe, hold tight -- it's coming July 9.

To kick off the "road to launch," Ruffian has released a video documentary entitled, "Fun With Friends." The first of three, it shows off the game's "non-stop, crazy action," which means a lot of crap blows up. No really, a lot of it.

The game's producer, James Cope, has promised a demo of the game prior to launch. Start frantically refreshing the Xbox LIVE Marketplace now.

first one was awesome for awhile but got old fast. wasnt enough to do and had a lack of any form of interaction. hope this one fixes all that.

also did they use the same engine?
doest look any different or better. oh well no big deal.
but the multi player is looking like alot of fun! but im starting to think that crackdown would be better off as a multi player only game with 32 players. i mean who played it for the story?

@musician if you really care you would use AdBlock Plus, and most adverts on this site are either in-site ads or related to gaming/technology.

Will there be a single month this year without 2 or 3 must-buy games?This is getting a little ridiculous.

Not to come off as a graphics whore, but yikes this game doesn't look very nice in that respect.

However, given that I've always been a "I want my gameplay! Quick wasting so much time on pretty visuals!" person I will just shut up. The Co-op part sounds very cool overall. I guess like MAG, if you going to put a lot of players into a giant world, you have to sacrifice something in order for it to work right.

@Drakengard

The first game didn't exactly "wow" either, but there were normally so many explosions, cars and bodies flying through the air, people jumping over buildings, etc., that you didn't spend a lot of time gazing at the scenery.

Like you said, sacrifice.

I wasn't a fan of the first one unless I was playing with someone. That was some good co-op.

@Zeebad

Alpha Protocol is a new IP with a bit of a rocky history, whereas the original Crackdown was a big hit. I can almost guarantee more people will buy this than Alpha Protocol -- not that I have anything against Alpha Protocol, I think it looks interesting, but just saying. Crackdown 2 is going to sell well regardless.

This time they will have 100 billion Agility Orbs instead of just a pitifully measly billion. They should just go all out and make it a trillion.

My favorite part of the first game: jumping off the Agency Building.
