Boston, Foreigner, and Journey come to Guitar Hero 3 photo

Rejoice guitar heroes, for today marks the release of the greatest Guitar Hero III downloadable content yet! Available on the Xbox Live Marketplace right now, the Classic Rock Track Pack can be yours for 500 Microsoft Points.

The songs included in the pack are Boston's "Peace of Mind," Journey's "Any Way You Want It," and Foreigner's "Juke Box Hero." If there was ever a time to scream "DO WANT" at the top of your lungs, now would be it. Seriously, feel free to go crazy.

Best of all, the songs aren't performed by cover bands. Although, I will say that "Juke Box Hero" sounded a little ... off. Fortunately, Boston and Journey sound as incredible as they did in their prime.

Are the rest of you going to download this pack, or are you having a hard time justifying spending 500 Microsoft Points on 3 songs that can only be played with a guitar peripheral, unlike Rock Band's DLC?

Well, considering that I haven’t touched my copy of Guitar Hero III since a few weeks before I bought Rock Band, I probably won’t be buying this anyway.

It'd be hilarious if Harmonix started releasing the exact same track packs for the exact same price.

Rock Band ftw!

AKK, it'd be even better if they started releasing the exact same track packs, at a slightly cheaper price. PRICE WARS FTW!

There's not much of a price war going on, considering the domination of RBs number and pricing on tracks. 2.5 mil GH3 DLC sold? I think not.

I have always said that Juke Box Hero would be an awesome track for GH/Rb

I can't stand any of these bands. I wish I had Rock Band for the DLC.

I only download for Rock band. I don't even like the guitar Hero controller. The GH layout hurts my eyes now and all I truly know is rock band.

You would think with as many Wiis sold, plus it's ability to download from the Internet, that they wouldn't just focus on PS3/Xbox.

Hey Activision: If you are going to release a product on multiple platforms, release updates for all of those platforms. Jerks.

HEY, GRIM. justify this:

Any way you want it
Thats the way you need it
Any way you want it

She loves to laugh
She loves to sing
She does everything
She loves to move
She loves to grove
She loves the lovin things

Ooh, all night, all night
Oh, every night
So hold tight, hold tight
Ooh, baby, hold tight

Oh, she said,
Any way you want it
Thats the way you need it
Any way you want it
She said, any way you want it
Thats the way you need it
Any way you want it

I was alone
I never knew
What good love could do
Ooh, then we touched
Then we sang
About the lovin things

Ooh, all night, all night
Oh, every night
So hold tight, hold tight
Ooh baby, hold tight

Oh, she said,
Any way you want it
Thats the way you need it
Any way you want it
She said, any way you want it
Thats the way you need it
Any way you want it

The one thing that really boggles my mind in all of this is that the GH3 DLC packs are more expensive than the Rock Band ones...It just doesn't make sense...

That Foreigner song has to be a cover. I just listened to it on youtube, along with the studio version, and they don't sound very much alike. The solo sucks too. But I'd pretty much given up on GH3 and their crappy note charts.

Hopefully Rock Band will step up and get some Journey..

These should really be whole albums. You can't rock out to any of these bands properly* without a full album treatment.

GHIII has a few songs for free....this factors into their downloaded figure. In essence Rock Band is selling alot more but more Guitar Hero songs were downloaded. Make sense?

Rock Band FTW

Dude what the fuck? I realize Harmonix has a little more limited budget with Rock Band (which is what I blame for the recent covers) but is it really THAT hard to get a Foreigner master compared to Activisions offers?
