Even those us of not living in the Dallas-Fort Worth area can get in on the Borderlands midnight launch madness. While the rest of us won't be able to hang with the Gearbox crew physically, we can certainly do so in spirit.
Over 1,300 GameStops are set to hold midnight Borderlands releases, and if this sounds like something you want to attend (protip: it likely is), then head on over to this massive forum post packed with every single last store location.
Even though it doesn't need to be said, let's go ahead and say it anyway: this game is going to be big, if the marketing, reactions on Twitter and elsewhere, and reviews are to be believed.

"bitches love sandcastles" ... yet, there is no sandcastle in that photo. We may never truly understand his ways.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Waiting for more reviews. Maybe someone will hate it.
GO TEAM!!!!!!!!!
In other new release news Risen was banned in Australia. LOL!!!
Why because one person doesnt like it means you have some kind of right to not like it yourself then? DErrrrr.
Oh well, I have to wait 'til next week anyway for the PC version.
Don't just lie about 'optimising' the game while simultaniously shipping the copies and letting them sit in stockrooms gathering dust, allow the console owners to pick it up at midnight, a week earlier, and ignore any sort of midnight launch for the PC.
This is why staggered multiplat launches annoy me...
In any case, I'm going to preorder it from Steam today. The reviews and new videos convinced me.
Glad that we already have a lot of indications that Pachter was wrong about this game.
oh wait
You could decry 'Tin Foil Hat!' but seriously, Ubi already admitted that was the reason Assassin's Creed II was delayed for six months, drum up console sales (on average £10-15 more expensive in the UK at least), and reduce piracy (because delaying a game for half a year endears me to the product, naturally). I am aware that they're adding features, so it's not entirely pointless, however, what 2K are doing IS pointless, shipping on all three platforms simultaniously, but not letting the PC version be sold so those who really want to play have to cave and buy the console version.
tl;dr: It's only hurting the customer. I don't mind waiting three days while the USA gets it first due to international distribution, I do mind waiting an additional seven when I should be able to buy it as it's in the store!
I would have liked to have had a midnight release for Demon's Souls. I know it wasn't a huge release (commercially, not as far as the quality of the game itself), but I didn't think Borderlands was, either.
Borderlands: 12 reserve, 20 copies in. Street dated. Along with FIFA 2010, WWE 2010, and that little girl game shown in the Nintendo E3 conference we all made fun of.
and its gonna suck cause everyone will be higher levels on this and done with it by then. but it will give me time to finish uncharted and not forget about it like i do with all new releases.
i really need to finish more games. but i know if i dont get a game i really want it comes out i will never pick it up down the road.
