As for headshots, The blood and gore from a decisive headshot is pretty telling, and sometimes you can't even tell you DIDN'T. just blow.off someone's head...>.<;;
Also, Jakkobs FTW.

you can still blow most humanoids to bits using explosive weapons, but even that just feels weird, the parts and bits fly so fast and splatter on the ground so fast that most of the times you won't even notice
i do hope they add that gore later to the game, sniping in borderlands 1 was kinda of a nightmare, but you did it just for the plain satisfaction of blowing somebody libs/head off, sniping is way more feasible and better on BL2 but feels unrewarding thanks to this
the game still one of the best sequels to a game i've ever seen, it basically improved on every aspect of it's predecesor and made things 100 times better, so nobody is really bashing it, just saying that something that kinda defined sniping in the fist game is gonne and that's just a bit of a dissapointment since the game is so good
Still, I wouldn't care either way. Gore and gibs or not, I'm still in love with the game. I mean, I bought it twice. That should say something.
I then proceeded to blow his arms and head off, until he was but a torso.
I did not notice this feature was missing in Borderlands 2, but I am aware of it now, and am slightly saddened.
If they patch it in, great! if not, eh, not that much of a loss.
As others have said: I'm not opposed to this.
I just want them to use their manpower and time wisely to make the best content they can for the game.
Also, it's a bit odd seeing a game try to censor itself when both box covers in the series feature a depiction of suicide.
I guess I'm fine either way ^.^
@Innominatus
Actually as I recall it the box art itself that has become an almost iconic staple of the game is itself a "censored" version of the original box art. Which actually became more impactful after the alteration ^.^
"AW MAN I DON'T WANNA PLAY THIS AWESOME GAME THAT I REALLY WANT TO PLAY UNLESS THERE'S TONS OF MORE GORE. WHAT'S THAT? NO, GAMERS AREN'T VIOLENT. WE JUST NEED MORE AND MORE GORE IN OUR VIDEO GAMES OR ELSE THEY AREN'T FUN."
But seriously, how important is gore to a person that they need more of it to justify the 'fun value' and/or purchase of a game. I dunno, maybe I'm not the right person to ask. This just seems really dumb.
more concerning are the comments here along the lines of "if you're concerned about this, you're stupid". why do these people feel the need to say that? to all those people i say this: opinions are like assholes, and my opinion is that you're an asshole.
Still, if they had an option that would be nice.
I have to agree that it's very noticeable if you're a sniper. A head exploding was a telltale sign you had killed your opponent. The way it is now, you have to kind of wait for the blood to clear from the air before the health bar is visible again. I've wasted more than a few shots firing into an already dead opponents head.
I really miss being able to gib off heads and limbs. I hope they patch it back in soon.
Also, acid elemental weapons had the best death animation when they died of corrosive damage. The flailing, the screaming, the melting!!! They still melt but they sure don't flail.
The only valid point is that there needs to be some kind of feedback on eliminated enemies to allow more efficient movement to the next target. Not necessarily headsplosions, though. Blinking the name/health UI element over a target a couple of times to show a definite kill would suffice.
Couldn't care less about the gore. That hasn't been a priority for me since I was about 15.
Also enjoying gore and violence doesn't make you a psychopath or somehow pathetic. You don't tackle negative stereotypes by disavowing the things people enjoy completely.
First world problems to the fucking max. What kind of a psychopath gets visibly upset because they can't view graphic decapitations?
I honestly don't have a problem with it. I've been having a blast with my melee build Zer0 regardless. However, if they want to patch more gore in, I won't say no.
It won't take away my enjoyment of the game if they don't though. The game is fantastic.
Is the game fun? Are you liking the story? Does it play well?
THEN WHO FUCKING CARES ABOUT EXPLODING HEADS.
Funny thing is, they'll still get GOTY for this trifle of a "controversy", because the same people saying they won't play it because of this, are probably still buying it and playing any way and only proved to waste energy bitching for nothing.
This is probably the best comment of the 21st century, possible of all time. It was never better, even in my day, but at least the idiots couldn't chime in nearly as much as they are able to now. Thank you, internet.
