Apparently the chances of this happening go way up if you exit the game without hitting "save and quit" from the menu first, so don't go resetting if the slot machines aren't treating you well!
I've had to exit to dashboard a few times to bypass other glitches (such as quests breaking when key quest items dropped by bosses fall right through the level geometry), but so far I've been lucky enough not to get hit by this. Definitely has me thinking I should back up those saves though...

Almost every instance I have read of it involved people playing local co-op. That doesn't make sense given that they're saying that it is affecting PCs, so I guess that the local co-op isn't the only issue?
For some reason I started getting a lot of lag with this game last night. At launch it ran smooth as glass, but playing last night was arduous, especially aiming.
They need to fix a lot of bugs. Thankfully I am still a statful badass. Maybe I should do some more GW2 for a bit.

I had no idea what all those Badass notifications actually meant until last night when I explored that section of the menu. Turned out I had 32 Badass points unspent.

Gears has had a bad data reset bug for 2 games now that they can't seem to fix. Seems UE3 just likes to eat your shit.
Yeah, in the Gearbox forums, Gearbox staff have recommended backing up your saves if you're worried and *always* exiting through the save and exit command.

Well now that they have fixed the issue with a small stat boost called baddass rank they can start fixing the real issues. Like connection issues, mouse sensetivity issues, and of course UI and save hacking issues which are btw an issue both on console and pc.

Right? As tekbunny said, the game doesn't really tell you anything about them as you go. I just assumed it was some kind of alternate ranking system.

I don't know if it's a similar issue, but this pisses me right the hell off: Me and my friend play the BL2 Co-op on the same PS3 profile. Only player one gets to keep Badass ranks between saves. It is so damn annoying. I mean, it has very minimal effect on my game, but it is still kind of annoying.
@Tek, it diminishes lower than .5%, it just plateaus there for a few ranks.

Main thing here is the hope for any progress to be restored.. Even with how much people love the game, I can't see many people being that happy with having to redo this.
Until Gearbox finds out it costs 10,000 dollars to patch the game and refuse to do it because barely anybody is affected by it. Then Randy will tell the angry fans to suck his dick and go tell Iwata to fuck off because his games suck.
It was a jab at the whole Fez patch controversy. The game had bugs at launch, they made a patch to fix it, a nearly game-breaking bug was found, Phil Fish came out and said that it only affected 1 percent of users and they couldn't afford 10,000 dollars to fix it, so they left it in. Meanwhile, Randy Pitchford and his team jump to fix a shitty bug in their game.
I know it's two completely different situations (Gearbox not being an independent company and all), but Polytron really should have been prepared for something like that. The only reason I made my comment is because this really reminded me of that whole shitstorm. Also, I love seeing developers rush to fix flaws in their game. Shows that they still care, despite it being "very rare".

This game looks cool. My favorite part of the game is the guns. I think I am going to get a gun from here http://www.airsplat.com/airsoft-video-games.htm and do a modify to get it to look like what they use in the game.
I've had some strange alternate version of this where my challenges for having X amount of money saved and collecting money drops were both reset to zero. Didn't fix the fact that my "complete at least level 1 of all badass challenges" achievement is still glitched.
Judging from the first borderlands, this is the first of many bugs to come. Many won't get fixed. Hell, borderlands is how old and is riddled with bugs? Fucking dice, er gearbox >_>
