Bomberman Touch 2: Volcano Party hits iPhones this week photo

Sure, if you aren't much into using your iPhone for gaming, a quick glance at the App Store may kind of make you feel like its a bunch of shovelware, but invest some time in browsing and you'll find the gems in there. I have a feeling Hudson's Bomberman Touch 2: Volcano Party could number among them for fans of the adorable bomber.

Priced at $2.99, it features Bluetooth functionality so you can go head to head with another player at anytime, along with Challenge mode, which has you scrambling through the level trying to get to the boss. It sounds pretty fun, especially for that price. On the other hand, if you play a lot of Bomberman on your 360, you may be burned out already. Is this something you'd consider picking up?

Sequel to One of the Most Popular Apps on the iPhone

features P2P battle via Bluetooth

San Mateo, Calif. – June 17, 2009 – Bomberman Touch 2: Volcano Party, the latest Bomberman for iPhone/iPod touch published by Hudson Entertainment, the North American publishing arm of HUDSON SOFT, is now available for download at the iTunes App Store.  Anyone including existing Bomberman Touch fans and new players can download Bomberman Touch 2: Volcano Party for $2.99 and receive all the content of Bomberman touch with the new features.
“To take advantage of the new Bluetooth™ functionality available in the iPhone OS 3.0 software update, Bomberman Touch 2: Volcano Party has a P2P battle function as well as new competitive modes,” said Yoko Tsumagari, vice president of mobile games at Hudson Entertainment.  “Bomberman Touch 2: Volcano Party continues our tradition of innovations in the mobile gaming market.”

Bomberman Touch 2: Volcano Party offers classic Bomberman multiplayer action to iPhone and iPod Touch gamers for the first time.  The new Battle Mode features up to four players (including two CPU players), while Challenge Mode includes two player action.  In Challenge Mode, the user and other characters cooperate to avoid the running lava and move towards the labyrinth to defeat the boss waiting inside.

Bomberman Touch 2: Volcano Party will run on iPhone and iPod Touch (2nd generation or later) installed with the new OS 3.0.   For more information on Bomberman Touch 2: Volcano Party or other titles, please visit Hudson Entertainment at www.hudsonent.com.

About Bomberman

Originally launched in the US in 1987, the game captured gamers’ hearts with its simple yet challenging gameplay. With over 60 iterations on nearly all major consoles since then, and over 10 million units sold, winning accolades as the best multiplayer game of all time, this classic game has stood the test of time. Along the way, it also pioneered the “party game” genre, encouraging groups of 4 or more friends to duke it out in one room, and was the first series to contribute to Hudson’s reputation as the number one party game company.

If they sort out the controls, which weren't bad in the first, but weren't very precise, this will probably be a must-own.

Volcano Party sounds like an awesome name for either a band or a kinky sex act.
