Destructoid is gaming news, community, videos, and sometimes love. Take the tour or jump in with Facebook:

This video was our formal introduction to the world of Hudson Entertainment's internal development process during our demo at their offices a few weeks back -- afterwards, lots of us were clamoring to see it online, and they up and made our dreams come true. Gaze upon Hudson's Bomberman Live development diary video and tremble!

Don't forget -- y'know, once you're done trembling -- to check out my Bomberman Live impressions, a recount of the day's proceedings, and my interview with Hudson's CEO, John Greiner.

Yeah, but who was there?

Plus I won the Bomberman tournament which gives me lifetime dictatorship over all news even remotely related to Hudson. Take your post down before I send my brutes.

That was pretty good, actually. But that's my standard, not quite Internet standard. I was trying to channel the standard Xbox Live user, y'know -- OMG U TEAMKILED SHITCOCK FUCKSHIT, etc.

Bomberman 64 was fun, but it almost isn't even a Bomberman. Bomberman games belong on a 2D plane. Bomberman Party Edition on PS1 is still the best Bomberman i have ever played (unfortunately, i have never played the praised Saturn Bomberman). Party Edition was essentially 3 different bomberman games on one disc, and it was 5 players. it had tons of levels, and special modes that included selectable characters with unique powers.

Bomberman Live looks sweet. i really wanna buy it! but i am also hoping for a PS3 version of some sort, just because the ps3 can support 7 players on one console. that will be Bomberman Heaven.

Party Edition made my head hurt. Every time I load my disc it makes me want to stab things. Bomberman 64 wasn't bad if you used a SuperPad with turbo (or can mash buttons fast) to unlock the extra levels. The levels were too small overall but it could have been worse.

You missed a lot MusashiX2. Saturn Bomberman is amazing in one player or multiplayer. The music is kick ass, with Jun Chiki Chikuma shining brighter here than even some of the SFC gems she supplied tunes for. If you have enough taps and pads, multiplayer is great. Using code to unlock the extra characters makes it a bit more interesting visually as well.

For those of you who liked Bomberman n64, did you ever try Saturn import Bomberman: Fight! by any chance? The boards are more detailed than the n64 version though it takes a bit to get used to the 3D models, camera angle given, and power bars. You are given more character choices, a VERY different lineup. You don't die with one shot unless it's a strong bomb. You can make huge bombs either by building up your bomb meter or grabbing a powerup. If you get the horse you can even eat bombs building your bomb meter up quicker. The strange slideshows and videos (mixed with the gameplay) you get for winning x amount in a row in survival mode are worth the pickup IMO. It only supports 4 players, which is more than the other Saturn/PS1 import title Bomberman Wars which only supports two player chess-like action.

No one has mentioned either Cube version. Outside of Saturn Bomberman, I'd say these were some of the best modern Bomberman titles given the trippy colors and battlemode gameplay (PCE/SFC titles not included obviously since they are more part of the classic cannon IMO). It's American gamers' fault for not supporting more Bomberman to entice Majesco and others to bring more of the Japanese lineup over. Bomberman Kart? Hell yeah. :(
