Board game Apples to Apples becomes a videogame
Super-fun comparison board game Apples to Apples will become a PSN and XBLA game this holiday season. THQ is adding social and online connectivity in the videogame version, which will allow for connected play, anywhere and at any time. The game feature single, local and six-player online play. The release mentions Golden Apple cards, which can be used to change the rules. There's also Facebook support, which lets you brag about your comparisons. Also expect DLC: cards, backgrounds and more. THQ says that the game will later expand to Facebook and mobile devices. Apples to Apples will be priced at 800 Microsoft Points for Xbox 360, or $9.99 on PS3. Did you know? You can now get daily or weekly email notifications when humans reply to your comments.
Legacy Comments (will be imported soon)Dale is right. Drive some drinks into yourself and a couple of friends and you will all be laughing until you pee yourselves playing this. I can vouch for this game being awesome when sober too. However, I'm curious to see how this is going to work. Hope I find out soon. I love this game but I'm skeptical as to how well it will work in single player. It seems ripe for a bullshit cheating AI. However I'm sure Online it will be a blast, hopefully it doesn't become infested with naked dudes on their webcams like Uno did.... Who am I kidding? Of course that will happen. I was just telling my friends last week that I didn't know why this wasn't already a download. Can't wait to try random matches, since figuring out how to play to your audience is so key. Windows phone can go to hell... and that xbla version was promised months ago(spring 2011 actually).
:( I know the board game is rather difficult to find these days, so it's good that there will be a digital version at least. Also, as far as drunk party board games go, Apples to Apples is definitely up there. For thsoe who like Apples to Apples: A friend picked up Cards Against Humanity (http://cardsagainsthumanity.com/) which is essentially a depraved version of Apples to Apples, and it is quite excellent. Plenty of memes and pop culture references and many cards that will let you sound exactly like the terrible person you really are. It is considered a ritual in my circles to reserve the Helen Keller card for a sexually themed adjective. This is probably the only assured victory in Apples to Apples. I love this game! But will this contain single player as well? I don't know how the hell they would pull that off. Most of the fun comes from laughing at the absolute insane comparisons and the things you and your friends guess about each other. That will be gone without an actual person to play it with. Never played this, but only ever heard good things. That's not true, but I still want to play it (in actuality) sometime. 7:00 PM on 04.24.2013 BioShock Infinite: The Siege of Columbia rulebook postedWe first heard about BioShock Infinite: The Siege of Columbia just a few weeks ago, and this week, Plaid Hat Games has released a PDF of the game's rulebook for your perusal.
