Also - in Smash Bros he definitely is more green than black.

WRONG. Mr. Popo is the manifestation of Akira's attempt to create the theatrical black man. It's a stereotypical black caricature. Black face with big red lips and he even has only one tooth. The Japanese have a history of being very impartial to races as they don't give a shit about offending people, mostly because they didn't create the show for Americans in the first place and there is a very VERY small minority of black people in Japan. In fact I was always surprised Funimation didn't edit Mr. Popo to another color.
I'm leaving now. I'd suggest to the rest of you to leave also, but you won't.

Now Gannon isn't even black and Mr.Popo is possibly one of the most blackfaced characters I have ever seen so if you're going for the offended black man routine you have to go the whole way.
