Yes. You heard me. Five reasons why to hate Nintendo. Hate, dislike, boycott, take your pick. Fact is, Nintendo is failing at life yet they are still swimming in oceans of money thanks to casual gamers and grandparents. And, also why you should buy a Sony PlayStation 3. Call me a fanboy if you will, but you're a smelly expletive flap.

Reason Number One.
The most important reason to hate Nintendo is the fact that they hate our planet and won't mind seeing it rot to pieces as long as they get their money. The ones making the money will be dead before the planet reaches its final stages of decay, so they could care less. What am I basing this off of? The fact that for a few years, Nintendo has repeatedly been uncooperative in disclosing their environmental (if they even have any) procedures to Greenpeace.org.



Nintendo appears to care about our planet about as much as they care about its core gamers. Well, probably less. To repeatedly ignore and refuse to disclose any information regarding their recycling and environmental procedures makes them look real damned guilty, probably because they have nothing to disclose.

Sony, on the other hand, is the company ranking in the top with its friend Sony Ericsson. One damned good, green reason to support Sony (unless you want your grandchildren to know what it really feels like to walk out of Vault 101).

Reason Number Two
Batteries included. The Sony PS3 has rechargeable batteries included. Sony wins. Having to buy AA batteries every other week is a real pain in my wallet. But, ZAK, you can BUY rechargeable batteries for the Wii! You are so stupid!

Well, duh. But after I drop a pretty penny on a system, I really don't want to have to spend more so that it will have the same features another system already comes with. Oh, having to buy AA batteries over and over again will also increase the waste produced by households who have Wiis. And, since the USA has virtually no battery recycling program (that I have seen, anyway. If you know how to recycle batteries like AA ones, let me know. I am not joking, I have a bucket full of old batteries in my basement waiting for proper disposal).

Reason Number Three
Nintendo hates movies. It hates movies so much that after Sony and Microsoft have given its consumers the ability to enjoy sappy love stories with their ugly girlfriends since last generation's systems, Nintendo has failed to pick up on the fact that being able to play at least DVDs would be a step in the right direction, but like I said, Nintendo fails at life. Now, I have spent $249.99 on a Wii plus $29.99 for rechargeable batteries and a charging dock, so now I am at $279.98 for a system and it still can't play DVDs.

Sony's PlayStation 3 not only has a DVD upscaler, it plays Blu-ray discs. You get the best of both worlds. And, I will remind you, Sony actually cares about our planet!

Reason Number Four
Wii online play is worse than the PS3 (and who thought that was possible?) I'll just leave it at that. Oh - you have to buy a $29.99 adapter if you don't have a wireless network in your house! Sony PS3 has built in wireless and an ethernet port. Wow, you can include both? Omg, no wai!

Reason Number Five
SHOVELWARE.

You will not see nearly as much garbage games (if any) on a PS3. But, because the Wii is so popular with four year olds and 400 year olds alike, anything and everything has found its way onto the Wii (and the DS, but that's another story). Emergency heroes, imagine Party Babyz, Anubis, need I keep going? The Wii is cluttered with so many bullshit garbage games that it's getting hard to find anything decent worth playing. It is just one more way Nintendo is polluting the planet.

PS3 games are somewhat difficult to develop, and this has made companies who develop PS3 games actually put some effort into the creation of their games. Oh, and NHL 2009 cannot be found on a Wii. That's a crime. (So is giving the planet the shaft, prison style.)
