Will this find gold?

Sony's Playstation 3 has had a slow start in this new generations race and it is in dire need of some really exceptional AAA exclusive hits if it is to keep fighting for its current crown of top game manufacturer (with the Playstation 2). So could this new title, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, from the dogs at Naughty Dog, finally bring home some cheers for the Sony camp? It just might be and i believe that it will. In fact, even though the review system is broken in this industry, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune is doing very well in ratings and scores. With scores aside, (i don't have much faith in reviewers these days) the demo was released last week to a lot of praise by people who got a chance to play it. As far as the impressions the demo gave me, this game is looking to be a great new addition for the Playstation 3. Only a couple more days until its release (November 19, 2007) and i will be back here with a full review of my opinion of this game. So, on Nov. 19th you know where i've disappeared to... hehe :P

Roll Call

my, my, my... what else can be said about Infinity Ward's CoD4 (Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare) besides "OMFGTHISISAWESOME"? ummm.. probably something to that extent at least... to be honest, my favorite FPS of all time used to be Halo 1 and CoD4 has now kicked that dirtbag into the trash to be picked up this week. This game is a serious kick-some-ass game. it's so photorealistic it's eyegasmic! the controls are comfy, button layout is perfect and the story is pretty good (though it could be better, in my opinion) the missions are awesome and there is a good variety of locations so that the game's setting and colors aren't stale. the A.I is pretty good and your allies do help a lot... but the enemy A.I is also just as smart so don't be surprised when they come sneaking up on you from behind. The single player campaign is rather short but expect to be challenged throughout it like no other. And what is an FPS without it's multi-player counterpart? The replay value is infinite since it has online multi-player. You start of with a select few weapons and as you gradually rank up it unlocks other weapons and "perks" to use to your advantage.

I will be surprised if this does not win Game of the Year award. Infinity Ward has done a remarkable job.

my verdict:

graphics: 9.5
story & prestentation: 9.0
gameplay: 9.5
replay value: 9.5
overall: 9.5 (not an average)
