New Header!
yuiichi | 10:54 AM on 09.27.2007 10 comments

To prove my loving for all things Team Fortress 2, I've made a new header. What do you think, fellow fans of perfection?

Also, I'm hoping to get at least 1 comment from someone that's heard of the site today; wearing my Rampage shirt as a badge of honor!

Breaking: Rampage Shirt in the House!
yuiichi | 1:58 PM on 09.26.2007 8 comments

After over 3 weeks of waiting, my Rampage shirt finally arrived!

On my birthday, this was the first item I purchased for myself (since the gifts I recieved were purely monetary). Upon telling my girlfriend this, she exclaimed "NO, CANCEL YOUR ORDER!" Alarmed at her attitude, I calmly asked why (here's the kicker). She exclaimed, almost tearing up "THATS WHAT I GOT YOU FOR YOUR BIRTHDAY AND I WANTED IT TO BE A SURPRISE". I think that's the first surprise I've ever ruined.

In any case, the shirt is sw33t. Split Reason really does a fine job with the transfer - it's of the utmost high quality. And including 2 stickers was a stroke of genius.

The only question that remains is... where will I put them?

Fortress Forever Released!
yuiichi | 10:07 PM on 09.13.2007 5 comments

Today, I took the plunge into Team Fortress Classic. I was a CS 1.5/1.6 kid back when HL1 mods were popular. I remember rushing to my highschool computer lab to secure a computer and starting up Steam. Watching the white arm chug was a glorious sight back in those days where I didn't have broadband at home.

Unfortunately, I never really tried out any of the other ones too deeply, with the exception of Day of Defeat. But the news of Team Fortress 2 has sparked my interest once again into the HL1 mods and I played quite a good chunk of TFC. Imagine my surprise when the Source version of that game (and true spiritual successor, as TF2 is very different) launched today!

I only had about 10 seconds with the game, but what I saw was absolutely gorgeous. It also is packed with one of the best installers for 3rd Party Steam mods I've ever seen - no poking around directories to find the right one.

Get it here.

TFC fans - I urge you to check this one out! And if you have downloaded it and played, what do you think?

Nintendo admits it: Wii is lacking of games.
yuiichi | 12:03 PM on 09.08.2007 10 comments

Nintendo recently sent this email out to those who subscribe to their new releases newsletter:

What Nintendo? None of your other games were worthy of "great adventure"? Am I the only one who finds something like this kind of sad and depressing for a console with so much potential? Lets hope that 2008 brings quite a few more "great adventures" to the little white box that can.

[I do own a Wii and love it. I just wish I could love it more often]

19 years go by so fast!
yuiichi | 11:17 AM on 09.05.2007 12 comments

I can hardly believe that I've been around for 19 whole years. To the older members, it might seem like I'm just a "youngin'" that doesn't know what he's talking about. After all, I'm just 19. But when you get to the point where you're almost out of your teens, a stage you've been in 6 years of your life prior, it gets a little scary.

It dawned on me: I'm almost not a kid anymore.

Responsibility strikes. Bills strike. Jobs strike. More schooling strikes. Such is life, I guess.

Well, here's to me - all 19 years of me! May I see many more with DESTRUCTOID by my side!

Also, cocks.

That Odette!
yuiichi | 1:11 PM on 09.04.2007 0 comments

I just beat this laggy, laggy battle and now I had to do it again. Fortunately, she was much easier this time. Cornelius' spin attack is a definite plus, although it's a tad weak. Still very useful at doing some damage and then dodging the next attack!

How did you play Odin Sphere? Did you try to get the S rank on each level? Did you not really care? I'd love to know!

 about me

Hello, eh! I'm what one might call a Canadian, living up in Canada and all. And I'm also a gamer. Nifty, huh?

Back when I was too young to make decisions for myself, my parents controlled my gaming - they wanted the best for me and bought into the hype of the "game store guy". This is why my first console happened to be a Panasonic 3DO instead of a SNES. This is also why my first portable was a Sega Nomad instead of a GameBoy. The Nomad happens to be hooked up to my nice, new TV for some retro game lovin'. After this, my parents learned and I was no longer the kid with the obscure video game consoles.

I'm currently a junior at the University of Toronto, studying both Political Science and Business Management. I have no idea what I want to do with the rest of my life, but I hope the piece of paper that I get from this institution of education will help me out in some way.
