The BFG GeForce 8800GT OC's have dropped in price. I saw one when I was at Best Buy for $150 and couldn't resist. I had to upgrade my power supply though so I headed to Fry's and picked up a 500w for $40. My rig is very nice now.

Before the upgrade my bottleneck was my graphics card. I mean I have a Phenom Quad Core that's rated at 5.5ghz and 3GB of DDR3 RAM.

YKMG is a very happy man. Especially after running the Crysis test...

If you're looking to upgrade your graphics card now is the time to do it. You're not going to find a better card for a better price than this.

...Thats not an fps test... an fps test runs something to figure out what frames per second you run stuff at. For Crysis on that card, im thinking 30 to 40 fps at high settings at 1280x1024 resolution, no AA... yeah, Crysis is a jerk, if you're a graphics whore (like me!). However, considering that card will dominate everything else out there (except Hellgate London, but who cares), thats a great price. Almost makes me wish i hadnt bought my 8800gts a year ago... but then i wouldnt have had it the past year :P.

I know it's not an FPS test, it's just a measure of where my system stands in regards to recommended system requirements for Crysis. Come on man, I'm like one of THE PC GUYS here at Dtoid... =)

As for it dominating everything else you're right. It's horrible in a way though because even though I can run pretty much everything I want on high settings, I have that PC gamer habit of turning everything on low to optimize performance... gotta break that so I can actually enjoy the hardware.

Not sure if I'm "back at it", although I would like to be. I've been around but I just feel like I don't have anything interesting to post, nothing worth reading at least.

Also, yes, my PC is pretty awesome, especially for what I've paid in total.

I have an AMD 64x2 2.4ghz processor and 2 gigs of ram and I can run Crysis at a solid all around medium setting...lol
