i hate glitches/bugs that hinder games greatly, that really sucks
and even worse getting little to no help in forums in dealing with the issue...
best to contact 2k customer support
Horray I'm not the only one. I just got my copy today (my X-Box last week) in the mail (used for 15 bucks) it's a little scratched so it stalls here and there but it hasn't been in any key spots yet.
But I'm glad I'm not the only one late to the Bioshock party. Kinda stinks I already know the twist but still its friggin creepy and yes, point on. Even after seeing Big Daddy over and over again around the internet, running into your first one is just flat out amazing.
Sucks about the bug though.
=(
It hurts to hear this story. I hope you find a fix, the game really is worth it.
OOF. :(
I hope 2K Boston releases a fix for this problem soon. You've got to think there's been enough complaining on the issue.
"Bioshock on my PC"
I think I found your problem.
@Kyousuke Nanbu
Yes the problem must be that I'm playing it on PC. After all why would I want superior graphics and controls when I could play it on a console which has the same glitch happening. The wonderful thing about PC is that I can always download another copy of the game or when someone does discover a file edit that fixes it, I can perform it myself. I don't need to wait for the company to get around to releasing a patch.
Now if you're implying that my PC itself is the problem I'd also disagree. My computer is above and beyond most recommended game requirements and is full of nothing but industry standard hardware. It's the game developers fault that their product fails to operate properly.
"Normally when a game comes out with a lot of hype around it I tend to back off and wait for things to cool down before I play it. I want to develop an opinion without the feedback of everyone else."
I take the same stance. I bought Assassin's Creed knowing it was crap for 25 bucks and I don't regret it.
That really sucks about the bug. I thought I had a similar one at another point, but I was just being stupid.
If the bug doesn't get fix, you could try starting a new game, using a cheat/crack to jump to the level you bugged out on, and use a different cheat/crack to get your character back to the same stats as you started the level on. It might not bug again, and it's faster than playing through the whole thing again :)
It'd be really fucking creepy if you rented a 360 copy and the same thing happened. Like black listed from beating the game, haha.
That's why the PS3 version is #1.
The first problem is that you're playing Bioshock in the first place.
Your PC is just getting you back for installing it.
Wait, I suck. You could just edit the required item into your inventory!
Noclip.
At least you enjoyed the game up to that point. I just plain didn't enjoy the game.
I guess I'm a snob...
HAHAHAHAHAHA! I broke your game!
Bioshock did rock, but that's not what I came here to say. I came here to tell you that your blog header is AWESOME. The Kirby TF2 picture scores an A+ in my book.
I'd try what the professor said. Nothing worse than lost progress.
I'm with you on the hype thing, like brainderailment said, I'm playing through Assassin's Creed right now and I love the game. It has some problems but people will always find a reason to hate. Sucks about your game though, I f'n love Bioshock.
