About
Welcome to Dtoid's Friday Night Fights for Xbox 360!

FNF is a weekly, community-run event where Dtoiders get together to play videogames online! Planning starts in the forums, followed by posts here in the cblogs and on the front page on Fridays. It's easy to get involved, so why not start today?!

<-- You can read the blog for more info, but here are the basics:

How to FNF

To Play
Leave a comment in the blog or forum post with your Gamertag and which games from the schedule you want to play. More people will show up if they know other people are playing, so speak up!

Send an Xbox LIVE friend request to the person hosting the game and let them know you're from Dtoid and you're ready to FNF!

To Host
Leave a comment in this blog or the week's forum post listing game you want to play, the time you want to play it, and your Xbox LIVE Gamertag.

Don't worry about hosting the same game or hosting a game at the same time as someone else. Instead, think of it like a movie theater; more than one game can run at the same time!

Still confused? Click here for a full guide to everything FNF!

Busy weekend, huh?  Between MAGFest and PAX South, I'm sure there are a ton of people out there doing awesome things.  I wish I could head over to PAX South.  I'm originally from Texas and most of my family lives in New Braunfels, which is an hour outside of San Antonio.  That's my favorite part of Texas and it has so much to offer. If you're there, let me know and I'll recommend some good places to eat and places to go...except Schliterbahn.  I think it's a tad too cold for that.  Maybe one year I could weasel my way into a trip for PAX finally in the disguise of seeing family.

Anyway, have a good weekend with whatever you're doing and if you didn't make it to the forums to host anything, let me know in the comments and I'll add it!

Who doesn't love a good car movie?  I never saw the original Gone in 60 Seconds but I loved the one with Nic Cage.  Want to get that same feeling tonight?  Legendary Dtoider PhilKenSebben is going the FNF Triple Play: hosting a game on Xbox, Playstation and PC.  On the Xbox tonight, he'll be playing Forza Horizon 2.  I loved playing Forza 2 and 3 online back in the day, except the occasional troll that just tries to ram people off the course.  Phil told me he loves that.  Y'all should join run the course backwards.  I'm sure he'll be grateful.  Anyway, have a good weekend!

Well, that's it.  2014 is over.  Christmas is done and all the decorations and toys still on the shelves at the stores are being unceremoniously dumped to the clearance section so Valentine's Day junk can be sold.  The 2015 party hats are more than likely just thrown away instead of being sold.  Who is going to need a 2015 party hat after New Years?

Anyway, I hope 2014 was a good year for y'all, in gaming and in life.  I hope that 2015 is even better for y'all in the same two categories.  Batman Arkahm Night is coming out, Star Wars Battlefront (Maybe), Zelda U (Maybe), The Division (Maybe).  Obviously a lot of maybes.  But that's okay.

Anyway, have a good Friday Night Fight and a good 2015!

Last week was Christmas movies, this week is TV specials. This is the last FNF before Christmas so this is the last time you're going to have to deal with me talking about Christmas specials for the last time until next year.  SO DEAL WITH IT!  The only time I get to see snow is on TV so I watch a lot of Christmas specials just to see snow.

I've always been partial to the older Christmas specials.  The Grinch, Rudolph, Frosty and all the other poorly animated or lame stop-motion animation shows that I grew up watching were awesome.  Maybe it's only because I grew up watching them and I have nostalgia glasses on but compared to the current day specials, there seems to be something missing.  I've watched a few with my son that are OK, like the Phineas and Ferb Christmas special, and some that are downright terrible (that list is way too long).  There just doesn't seem to be the care that goes into the new ones; like they're only being made because they have to be made.

So like I said before, this is the last post before Christmas so I hope y'all have a Merry Christmas!  Hopefully with all the Xbox One sales that went on for the past month, the Xbox FNF will see some new life in the coming weeks.  In the mean time, Hanukkah is going strong right now too so Happy Hanukkah too!

This has always been my favorite time of year.  Every year I always watch the same holiday themed movies and the classic TV shows.  I'm a sucker for that kind of stuff.

Two of my favorite Christmas movies are A Christmas Story and Christmas Vacation.  They are two completely different movies that center around Christmas and are both great in their own right.  If you have not yet seen either of them, don't play games tonight.  Go watch them.  Now.  Anyway, I always have the hardest time picking out which movie is my favorite.  I would have to say A Christmas Story because I remember it makes me remember what Christmas was like as a kid.  On the other hand, as a dad, Christmas Vacation reminds me of what Christmas is like now.  Plus it has so many great memorable moments.

Let me know in the comments what your vote is; or if you have something else you want to bring up that I didn't.  Either way, just have fun.
