now mourning: the death of my save file data.
wwjd4bbque | 2:56 PM on 06.16.2008 3 comments

Perhaps due to hasty decisions and failure to read my ps3's manual; I -whilst trying to set up my dusty old PSN account and pull off some rather vain customizations to the XMB- have inadvertently deleted my MGS4 save data (i.e. all of my ps3 save data). I would tell you all where I was progress-wise, but I'm afraid it's a bit of a spoiler. Let me just say that this loss saddens me immensely.

I've already called Sony to see if there was a way to recover, and was only reminded of the back-up function. Although the representative did tell me that she was also playing through the game and was understanding of my loss and offered a little consoling, she even asked about my method of playing (minimal kills and alerts, friendly to rebels, face camo collecting etc. etc.)

It's not as though replaying the first portion of the game would be detrimental (there is always more information to glean) &I have already enlisted the help of a friend to speed-run back to where i was previously.

My only fear is having to defeat laughing octopus once again. A boss fight I consider to be the most unnerving in the history of metal gear. She scared the shit out of me. There I said it.

I swear I heard her say that.

p.s. This will be the last of my somber posts. I will now be channeling the unrestrained happiness of Chad Concelmo.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?

Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
