that's right, they've decided to jump on the 'games are evil' bandwagon again.
Children should be protected from violent video games by a new cinema-style classification system, a Government-backed report recommends.
sky news
why?
to be honest its just simply retarded and unnecessary. if people are so concerned with protecting there children from these games, perhaps maybe they shouldn't buy them for them.
if a game is rated 18, why do parents by it for their children if they know its violent. sorry to say but its because parents don't care, or are too blind to read a game case.
for example, a kid says to his mum "can you buy me the new gta when it comes out?". parents should say "go to hell kid" or "are you 18? i think not, so piss of and get me a beer". i was arguing this up with my mum this morning and her excuse was that 7 year old children dont know the difference between game killing and real killing. why does that matter, they shouldnt be playing the damn game in the first place.
At present, only games showing sex or gross violence require an age rating from the British Board of Film Classification - and less than 2% carry an 18 certificate.
sky news again
well maybe that because they are 16+ you asshat. i know the BBFC have lost a lot of respect but they rated the game, boo fuckin hoo if you dont like it, go cry and see who cares. maybe its because at the ripe old age of 16 you know killing isnt real because you are holding apparently the most dangerous weapon of them all - a controller.
next point, lets take a look at the actual rating of games for a second. below is my crysis case on my shelf. notice the rating on the front?, yeah its 16+. that means those 9 years old that apparently have frail minds shouldnt be playing these games. this is why the government and people are retarded, they are trying to protect people who the games aren't even supposed to be played by.
The age guidance would be printed clearly on its sleeve in a way that can be understood by parents who are not computer-savvy.
skynews
computer savvy? what the hell. i never thought it was that tough to read a fucking number and a few words. example time people:
on here is a clearly labeled game rating, and even a useful box saying "CONTAINS STRONG VIOLENCE." what more warning do you need? about about a special section in the shops labeled "killing games", as thats obviously better than a few words. im sorry, any parent who doesnt have the infinate wisdom to turn over a game case to read the back for rating guidance deserves to have their childs mind warped, which is like a tiny minority.
anyway, what will be there difference if they do change it to cinema style ratings? jack shit, that's what. cinema style ratings only differ from gaming ones because they happen to sometimes be placed in a rectangle, or don't include U because it just isn't needed.
look at the videos on this page.

ive said it already, but its retarded. they say about the effect the violent video game have on children. heres a solution, that doesnt a penny:
DONT BUY OR LET THEM PLAY THE GAME
nice, simple and works perfectly. parent dont need a PHD to work that one out now.
if i have a kid and he wants a game like that, I'll say get stuffed, wait till your old enough. people need to stop being pussies and just stop complaining, its getting on my nerves now. they always attack games and its not fair.
:) Epic win.
