the fucking thing is flashing malevolently at me, so i've decided to towel the bastard real tight and risk the searing inferno of a house fire to solidify my6 chances of having recial expletieves hurled at me on live tonight.
also, how long does it take to get a new one of the fuckers in the post?

I don't own one , but i've heard bad things about doing the "Towel Trick"!

Yah just send it in, but FYI it takes 4-6 weeks usually to get it back, unless you live near their repair center... and I dont know where that is, so that was pointless :P

I had heard a lot of horror stories recently about repair times taking forever, then my Xbox got the red lights on the 6th, my box showed up on the 11th, I mailed it out the same day, and now UPS is saying it will be delivered on the 24th. So in my case it hasn't been that bad, just under 3 weeks.

What is it about everybody except me losing systems? I have owned launch day systems on practically everything (GC, PS2, PS1, Wii, 360, N64) and I have not had a SINGLE system die on me. I play all of them at least a few hours a week, with extremely extended periods on some (MGS2 on PS2 anyone?)

Guess I am just lucky....

I sent mine in about a week ago and I just called and they said that the earliest it would ship is on thursday. I dunno when it will actually come back, but the guy sounded like he meant it.

i remeber the day my ps1 died

we tried every thing to play tony hawk 2 and then my friend just turned it on upside down and the gaming shortly followed

i also had a dual shock controller that didnt work whe it was cold so i sat it on a heat vent and then it worked fine

When I red ringed, the towel trick worked once and only once. So I would suggest saving it (the trick)for when you have the time to game for a while because that might be your last time for a month and a half.

i did read it, but when it comes to glue guns and the like, well fraqnkly fuck that shit.
towels are nice and lo-fi.
it worked too.
