Don't worry, I have made comments on unfunny panels but some have made me chuckle. Besides their expo being a rip of my friend's expo, I actually prefer Ctrl-Alt-Delete.
but fuckin hell man. they mst be the most consistently unfunny thing on the internet. I mean how hard is it to be funny on the internet?
It even has its own funny titles such as "internets" or "intertubes", with gold like that lying around, how hard is it to raise a few chuckles?
That shit is more offensive that the jade raymond cartoon ( which to be honest gave me that requiem for a dream vibe)
jealous much?
Enjoy crying about it in your clog blog while they enjoy success in the Internet and gaming world.
you should check meta critic and see how jealous those fools are of all the people
who get to make movies for a living!
National socialism also enjoyed some success it doesn't mean i have to like it, of even get it.
Yeah, FUCK THEM FOR BEING SUPER SUCCESSFUL!
Roble Roble Roble
jesus christ. can anyone defend the fuckin strip in terms of content and not in terms of relative success?
seriously.
I can understand its a bit of a stretch to criticise anything on "teh" "intertubes" but do people actually like the strip. Its all i'm asking.
I don't like Penny Arcade either. I remember years ago I followed a link to it from Ctrl-Alt-Del... not funny or interesting.
Urgh, your post reeks of so many different flavours of retarded that it's just a mess to watch. It's like watching liquid shit being molested by a model Hitlar sculpted from salty urine.
First of all, it helps if you say why you don't like them. I can give you a truckload of reasons why they are funny, but unless you start me off, I don't need to. Your argument falls flat on it's face the moment you ignore reason
Then there's the horrible grammar and text structure. Then there's the fact that this post is neither informative nor interesting, nor insightful or entertaining or relevant, and so on ad infinitium.
The most recent comic? Not one of their "classics" per-se, but the characters make it work. The art and facial expressions are what separate them from CAD. But the bottom line; if you don't like it, and it isn't shoved in your face, don't complain about it. You're free to ignore Penny Arcade like I am to ignore rap music, football games and ethics.
I also bet that you don't read the blogs that they write, which are part of the comedy in their comics. They're designed (I'm assuming) to be rewarding to anyone who trys to understand - if you can't be bothered, you won't get the joke, and no-body cares about those people because they are, largely, lamb testicles. You're not helping that prejudgement.
Also, you didn't deserve that much test, I'm just a mug who can't be as instantly dismissive as everyone else.
hitlEr.
UglyPhil, may I please have your man-baby (not gay)?
ugly phil.
your reasoning is that of a childs.
Not everything Penny Arcade does is funny, but that's the same with anybody. However, PA has enough funny to keep me coming back. Granted, some jokes you just won't get unless you game as a hobby. However, there are plenty of PA comics I've been able to show my brother, a kid who's only game in life is Tetris, and get a laugh. For example, in the latest comic he laughed at how Gabe's #1 friend on Facebook is Hannah Montana. The way I said it wasn't funny, you may not think that's funny, but some people do.
Anyway, regardless of whether you think they are funny or not, their charity does a lot of good and a lot of people had a lot of fun at their game con. I didn't think you had to be at a certain level of "funny" to do either.
I like the strip, I find it funny as hell, actually one of my favorites. The fact that there's a blog post to go with every strip is kinda neat, it gives the comic another dimension..
At least it's not Dueling Analogs.
oh christ, I haven't even hear of that one.
must......not.....google....
Yeah, because you've got a charity that gives millions to sick children, and you're not the last person who still finds Brokeback Mountain jokes to be funny. Got any Ruben Stutterd jokes while we're at it?
seriously guys......
seriously....seriously
Cereal!
hai
I find Penny Arcade to be quite humorous. Of course, I am in their general age range and know enough avid PC gamers, tabletop RPG players and serious console gamers to fully get what they're saying. I love the art style and how the art often carries the strip. Mike has created a very expressive and unique visual vocabulary. Seeing game companies and developers, as well as gamers, raked over the coals for odd decisions is very entertaining to me. The humor in their strips is often more of the theatre of the absurd style that not everyone appreciates. I find great enjoyment when reality is the real punchline.
Im curious to see what you find funny your top 10?
I've found them funny one many occassions. Of course they're not perfect, so there are plenty of duds. But overall, they have done damn fine job, and they also do some blogging, which they also do well. It's a good site, and just to let you know: Nobody should be complaining about them running a charity. They are helping children, asshole. You would absolutely love their asses if you were one of the kids who benefited from their charity. So get over yourself, stop feeling jealous, then smoke a fucking doobie or something.
I guarantee you'll find them a lot funnier.
