Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
I had high hopes for Kingdoms because the original PQ Warlords was behind it, and it didn't disappoint. Hell I'll go out on a limb and state that I prefer PQ Kingdoms over PQ Warlords, the mechanics are really fun and there is almost no grinding involved, the one thing I hated about Warlords. The battles are also a lot shorter in Kingdoms, which I like. Nothing sucks as much as a random encounter in Warlords which could take up some time if you are facing strong opponents. None of that in Kingdoms.
So basically, get Kingdoms (for PC or DS). I emulated Kingdoms on an PC NDS emulator and it played pretty much the same. The only thing that strikes me though is that this game doesn't look as good as Warlords, but hey the puzzle sequences itself look pretty good (if you are into diamonds and stuff :-D )
I understand a lot of people wondered how a hit like PQWarlords could result in such a terrible sequel. I tried a little bit of Puzzle Kingdoms. It's...different. But it also seems like a logical step from Warlords too. I may give it a shot again later on.
