Anyone who pays attention to what I say (Lemonland™: Population - 4) knows that I am nothing less than psyched about Rock Band. Any game that excites me based on impressions and images alone deserves a GOTY nomination from me. Guitar Hero has become less and less fun for me, although it totally hasn't lost its appeal, and although the $170 price tag is less than stellar, you can't lie that its totally tempting. Fuck, I traded in my entire Xbox 360/ half of my Wii library just to buy this game. Hell, I don't even mind buying a copy of GH3, just for the extra guitar. I plan to have impressions after I pick up the game on the 20th, but for now, I can only provide videos from YouTube. Featuring: COWBELL!
Also, did anyone notice how concise the button/note patterns are? And the fact that the singer sings along now? AND CROWD SING ALONGS! Yee!
I actually traded a lot of stuff in, too, towards Rock Band. Do you know of a better alternative for making money off of games that doesn't involve eBay or hustling your friends? GameStop doesn't give shit back, but I guess it's better than nothing for games that would never have been touched again. :/
(And I don't say this in a negative way, despite how it might sound.)
I will say right now! send me an email for all the games you want to trade to gamestop. I will pay 5 bucks more for what they would give you easily (more if its worth it) don't feed the hudge people!
I was completely psyched for the game...right up until I played with the guitar. Its god awful. Then I was told not to worry, that it was just the demo units. Then IGN confirmed that the guitar is indeed crap. I also found out that you can use your headset for a mic. So Ive decided to hold off until I can just buy the game and the drums separately. Then I will use my GH2 guitar and my headset for the other parts. Saving money ftw.
electro lemon, I agree. Cowbell in Rock Band is totally full of win. I, too, have been waiting for this game for a long time. I'm sure we'll both have quite the review to write up after we get it on Tuesday. =)
