1.) The Story While the show closely follows the tired and true “heroes journey,” that has been done to death in recent years, it separates itself by doing it extremely well. The characters are well thought out; the universe is interesting; and the episodes that could be considered “filler,” are actually relevant to the main plot, although it’s not always clear at first. The characters are always the deciding factor for me, when it comes to television serials. The writers of Avatar do a magnificent job at crafting compelling, funny, and believable characters to inhabit the universe of Avatar. What is even more amazing is that most of the characters fall into the age range of 12 – 17 years old. Yet even though they are young, I still find myself tuning in to see just what happens to them next. One character in particular catches my fancy, but we’ll get to that later. The universe of Avatar is also extremely well thought out. My favorite part about the world is that each of the four nations is completely different in culture, and traditions, from each other. Even more important is that the world is persistent in its mythos, helping further the audience’s immersion into the world and its’ struggles. It is the attention to detail that makes Avatar special, and that’s something you don’t see a lot of in most television these days. One of the great follies of most serialized television shows is that many episodes seem to exist only for the purpose of filling gaps in the seasons. Avatar has these “filler” episodes as well, but even the filler episodes have important details and events that turn out to be of great importance later in the story. Although sometimes you don’t always realize it until later Hey! That’s three things already, but I promised you more, so let’s think of something else. 2.) Action I’ll be brief with this one. The action scenes in Avatar are simply jaw dropping. I don’t know what magical elves the Avatar team has that animates them, but they are some of the absolute most beautifully choreographed fights I have ever seen. Seriously, they rival most Hollywood movies. Especially the fight at the end of the series between Azula and Zuko; the music during that fight makes me cream my pants every time I see it. 3.) Katara And now the most important reason of all: Katara. She is the greatest, female, animated character ever, in the history of everything. I don’t like Katara because I think she is hot; I don’t fantasize having hardcore sex with her every time I jack-off; I just like her, because she is AMAZING! You know what? Her amazingness cannot be expressed in words, so let me just put up a few pics. Avatar is by no means a perfect show, nor the absolute best. Obviously, I was exaggerating things a bit, except for the part about Katara. But I still think Avatar is great television, and if you have not already, you should check out the show, because it is some damn fine TV. Also, Katara.

Also, Always Sunny in Philadelphia is the best show on television.
You can't write a sarcastic blog and put a disclaimer at the bottom saying you were being sarcastic >.<
Otherwise, how will you find out who fell for it?
You're both wrong btw.
Peep Show is the best show on television.
(The english one, not any shit remakes that you americans may or might be doing)
Katara is probably the most I've ever been attracted to anything other than a real woman.
5) If you squint a bit, Avatar kinda looks like Krillin from Dragonball.
@Aurain
Everything about Peep Show is awesome! Even the Theme song!
Ha ha! So true. I haven't actually played any of the Avatar games.
@DAS INCHWORM
