I'd recommend against the site... I mean, you don't want Ninty gettin' all 'cease-and-desist' on your ass. Make it, get it out to the people that've been following the game (like Dtoid and anywhere else you're promoting it) via FTP, THEN put up a site.
That way at least it'll be released and all of your work will not be in vain.

Sr388 is the first game in a long time that I'm looking forward to. I can't wait to play it. If you fuck it up I will hate the world forever. This better be the next Cave Story.
