I'm sure a few of you have noticed my little blog on Wednesday about my dead XBOX. I was really angry, frustrated, and bored. I come home from work and I have nothing to do. I sit in my room, surf the internet, and stare at that open space on top of my TV where my beloved white box used to be. After a couple of hours of this I become really, really angry and take about a half an hour nap. Then I come back and the process comes full circle. It's not that I don't have friends or anything, it's just that everyone I know has funky schedules on weekdays. When a few of us aren't working, the rest are, and the ones that aren't working usually have something to do. The only real time to hang out is on weekends, so weekdays had become my core gaming time. Now that my 360 has left the coop I'm left with nothing. I mean, really. Am I supposed to read a book, watch TV, or watch a movie? There's only so much of that shit I can take. It gets boring after a while. The video game is my favorite entertainment medium. The rest pale in comparison, in my opinion. They really do. Which brings me to the point of my title; I want a PS3 now. I really do. If I'm not going to be playing my 360 during this entire time, I want something like it to play. Not to mention the fact that I don't have an HD player, but have a 65 inch HD TV. Microsoft's fail has pushed me towards a PS3 purchase. Now, don't get me wrong. If I had to choose between both systems, I'd go with the 360. I prefer the games library on it over the PS3's, and I love XBOX Live. However, there are some games I'd love to play on Sony's big boy. The only real problem I have with the PS3 is it's price. I don't think it's overpriced necessarily, but it's a tad expensive for a fresh faced 18 year old barely stepping into the real world. Not to mention the fact that I'm keeping some money for PAX. I also have a problem with buying component cables (seriously, what the fuck?) for an HD movie player. It's really funny, though. If my 360 was fine and I was spending this time playing my copy Grand Theft Auto and not writing this whiny blog, I wouldn't be considering the PS3. I'd be having fun. They've seriously given Sony a sale. Give me 3 weeks and I'll have that PS3. I can get it in 2 if I don't spend much, but thats highly unlikely for me. Of course, PAX comes first and I'm not buying a PS3 before I get all my PAX things paid for. P.S. - This is the last, "oh no, Microsoft fails at hardware" posts you'll get from me. Sorry for keeping to one topic. I just don't have anything to play. Well, that's not true. I have a Wii, but I find that console to be highly dull. No More Heroes was "meh." Sorry. I'm not turning into a mini Wardrox! <3

I was pissed, also. Sony pushed HD way more than Microsoft did, but all we got was composite. I don't even own an HDTV and it pissed me off, too.
I totally agree about No More Heroes, by the way. It oozed style but lacked engaging gameplay for the most part. I wasn't as in love with it as most other Wii owners seemed to be. I think Grasshopper Manufacture's best game (that I've played) is Contact. It had a lot going for it, but a kinda odd battle system. Good though...
Also, all this free time you have..have you thought of the pursuit of vagina? A thought.
:D
my 360 hasn't crapped out on me yet *knock on wood*
but it did give me a big scare about a week ago where it wouldn't want ot read my discs period
as soon as that happened I literally dropped to me knees and shed a tear no joke I dailed hells phone # and they wicked indian accent of doom told me my coffin would arrive in three to five buisness days
then for the next 20 hours I was in purgatory
long story short
I had nothing to do but sleep
don't get me wrong I like sleep
but I love gaming more
so in other words I don't wanna be left up shit creek with out a paddle
I could tell you go buy a second 360 to use when the other 360 goes RRoD, but then is the whole hdd issue with your profile, isnt it?
And between a second 360 and a ps3 I would go for the ps3, only for the blu ray player.
The best site I've found for all your cable needs.
Also,
Welcome to the Dark Side.
You know, it’s funny...Jim wrote that article about the “Xbox Exodus” way back in January or something, and it’s actually starting to come to fruition now. Well, anyway, I hope you do get a PS3, Alex. You know I enjoy mine!
....WELCOME TO THE FOLD!
My PSP and DS aren't afraid to take me away from my console.
And thats when my PS3 starts becoming the music player/visualizer of the group.
Btw, I can't help to wonder what kind of TV you had? It doesn't matter too much, but I just wonder if it was maybe some radiated heat or EMF/magnetic interference that could have caused the RROD. I mean, it doesn't matter at the end of the day, but at least I think I know what caused my RROD: pure and simple, Heat from the case art stickers (skin) I used.

In-Game XMB couldn't come fast enough though.
My 360 is still working fine, but I'm prepared for if it dies on me, having my box's box ready to go. If and when this happens, I'll just delve into my PSP/DS/PS2 and all that anime I have to watch.
I think these days, it might be a better idea to own two 360's than one. 360s can be bagged as cheap as a Wii now, but maybe having twice the 360 trouble might help as much as hinder.
Hang in there, it'll get back to you. PS3 is a good idea to consider, when the games pick up in quality.
Anyway, the PS3 is great and the HDMI cable can be found cheap, like the other guys said. I also have a DS and only rarely use it to study Kanji on or as a Japanese<->English dictionary. I don't see the big deal.
If you get a PS3, get the MGS4 bundle if you dig those games. MGS4 + mostly backward compatibility + dual shock = most of all you need. If you are going to be like me after I bang a girl once and go back on my goal of immediately banging her again as soon as the jizz leaves, then I'd suggest buying the PS3 before you get the 360 back. You might chicken out otherwise. Know what I mean?
