I’m still working on this series, guys. I don’t have the format down just right. What I will do is have a featured game that I talk about for the first part of this thing and then lead in to my link dump of freeware and browser based games. It sounds simple, but you try and playing a whole bunch of games in a couple of nights. A lot of which are boring and uninteresting. It gets tiresome, but I’m still enjoying myself. It’s kind of like fucking a fat girl. The process sucks but the end result is pretty damn cool. You can always drink away the pain later.
This week there is no featured game, though. I wanted to pull this out Today, which will be this post’s release date every week (Thursday N. America). Hopefully I can get this off the ground and people start recognizing it. Otherwise I might start feeling discouraged if all I get are 5 comments a post. It’s not a popularity thing, but if no one is reading it then it’s going to be really hard to keep on doing it. Enjoy the games below, though.
My favorite is the flash based game called Miestas. Think of that as your unofficial featured game.
Also, I’m doing a great service to all you people to cool to go out on Valentine. I myself am out after this post. I’ll be back later tonight to check up on you guys. No fighting and no bad words! There’s food in the fridge, but don’t touch the ice cream. That’s mine and if any of you little fuckers even breath on it, I’ll carve your genital organs out. :)
Cloud - It’s really hard trying to explain this game and why I find it interesting. The beginning has a pretty well drawn cut scene that sets up the game’s story. You play as a typical anime styled kid whose dream is to make friends with clouds. You move about the sky in what I assume is your dream world.
The game-play is pretty simple and straightforward. You use your mouse to navigate, combine clouds together, and take in their energy. I really enjoyed myself.
Chalk - Here’s a nifty little side scrolling action game. You use your mouse to draw your way out of the game’s levels. A bit of hand-eye coordination is necessary. The art style is fun and cute. I sent one of my lady friends a link to it and she enjoyed herself. I myself loved it; but of course, don’t expect it to be something you play for too long.
Carious Welting 2 - You want weird? Then look no further. You take control of a little carnivorous thing. You eat worms. You kill everything else by regurgitating blood at them. It’s actually pretty fun so give it a go!
Crayon Physics - Consider this a beta. The real game is called Crayon Physics Deluxe. You should still download Crayon Physics to get the gist of their real game. It basically answers the question, “what would happen if your drawings came to life?” In Crayon Physics you’re only able to make squares, but it’s still a pretty cool puzzler. You use the physics of your drawings to solve problems. Real life should be like that, no?
Marathon - Are you a Bungie fan? Get to their roots. Download the precursor to Halo. Hell, it’s a lot better than Doom.
Mac fans! This one’s for you! Also, this game is able to run on Windows based PCs. I’ve tested it for you guys. (Thanks to Mxyzptlk for the suggestion/find.)
Knytt Stories - Knytt stories is a pretty interesting platformer. You have a pretty good diverse group of levels to play on. It’s good break from all those Virtual Console Mario games. I also hear the game is easily modable.
Miestas - Games as art say what? Seriously, the way this game looks incredible and the jazz background music is fantastic. It’s so relaxing and beautiful. Play this game just to enjoy its simple awesomeness. And it’s a flash game to boot. Who would have guessed?
Bible Fight - If the name alone didn’t draw you in, then get this. It’s a fighting game with Jesus and Satan in it. While it’s not deep or anything, it’s still good time waster fun. Chances are you’ll play this and never look back. It’s only draw is the fact that you can pit bible characters against each other. It’s still worth taking a quick look at.
FlOw - Can’t afford a PS3? Me either. Well, here’s one PS3 game you can play without paying the system’s hefty price. FloW was originally a Flash game before it was transported and sold on the PSN, and it is a pretty cool little “game.” Give it a look.
Platform the Game - Platform is an episodic flash game. It’s a pretty cool platform puzzler. The level design feels like that of Portal’s. Using two characters to get across the levels is pretty cool and the graphics are pretty alright for a browser game.
Chimgam - LOLWUT? That is all. (sort of NSFW)
Dad 'N Me - I’m guessing it’s from the same people who did Alien Hominid. The art-style of that and Castle Crashers is clearly there. But yeah. Any game that lets you beat up playground school children is great. It’s a pretty cool beat ‘em up.
That's all, folks. Feel free to leave a comment or PM me about your favorite free games. I'll be thankful and of course give you credit for your finds. Please do not link me to illegal Rom sites or torrent sites. I'm only posting stuff that's legally free on the internet.
