I've always wanted to do a feature on the c-blogs. Something weekly that I wouldn't have to much pressure doing. As far as I know, no one ever does a blog where they find good free games and let people know about them.
Some of us just don't have the pay-check to buy games all the time but still would like some games to play. It could be a large game, or it could be a quick time waster. I'm going to try and help those people out, as well as myself on playing some games when the money is tight.
For my first "I CAN HAZ" I'm going to link you guys to some free Rockstar classics as well as a few other gems. My featured game however, is Grand Theft Auto 2.
Intro film for GTA 2
Grand Theft Auto 2, was and still is one of my favorite games of all time. I was about 9 or 10 when I played this game and did not know what I was going to get into. I hit open button and the Playstation's lid lifted up. I popped in the disc and jumped in as Claude Speed, Grand Theft Auto's protagonist.
GTA 2's appeal for me was in it's sandbox game-play. I could do anything I wanted in this world. I could steal cars, run people over, kill cops, and that for my little mind was enough. Instead of following the game's story and doing the missions, I had fun killing Elvises and trying to get the army on my ass. Upon looking back the game is pretty damn fun when going through it to beat it. It still has that Rockstar charm and is still a blast to play. It's also pretty OK looking thanks to it's art style. Why not grab it? It's free!
If anything Grand Theft Auto proves how video games don't really do anything to children. I played the crap out of that game and I'm the most chilled person you'll ever meet. I feel bad after stepping on bugs. I'll blast a mo'fucka' in a video game, though.
Free games of the week:
Rockstar Classics - Along with Grand Theft Auto 2, you can download the original GTA and Wild Metal. All you have to do is type in your name and address. Don't worry. This is an official Rockstar site. No scams here, kids.
Mexican Motor Mafia - The concept is simple. Blow shit up in your muscle car. The game looks a lot like the older GTA games. The intro cut scene is pretty awesome. You spend most of your time doing side jobs for money. Use that money to buy vehicles and weapons to kick major ass.
Eternal Daughter - Dig Metroid and Castlevania: SOTN? If you do, then you might dig this game. This thing is from the same chaps that made I'm O.K. (the Jack Thompson video game). I'm having a good time playing this thing.
Jonny RPG - I thought I'd throw the classic RPG fans a bone. Then I felt bad and decided to give you guys an entire turkey. Jonny RPG is about a gaming nerd "looking to get his next fix." Nostalgia will ensue.
Well, that's it for this week. Sorry for the short list of games, guys. This idea sort of came at me really fast and I didn't have enough research time. I'll have a week to work on this and make it a lot better.
I remember the first time I played GTA2. I kept thinking to myself "Man! Imagine if they did this same game but in 3d from like a 3rd person perspective. It would would be so awesome!".
Very cool idea for a series! For future instalments, Bungie has the Marathon trilogy available online, and GameTap rotates free games in and out all the time.
Dude, me too! I remember playing Driver 2 where you could jump out of your car and get into other cars. It was in 3D and on the Playstation. I thought, "what if this was like GTA? Guns and stuff..."
Also, I'll be posting up flash and browser games. Anything that's a game, free, and good.

I've found some pretty weird but cool games. A few of them, actually. I'm having trouble figuring out what to put out next week. I don't want to overload people or just blow a huge load on one post.
Hopefully I can get my pacing right so that it's enough and not too much so that it's too long and hardLOL for people to choose what to download.
I've also found some pretty damn cool flash games. I'm very excited to post those up. I'm excited to be doing this for the D'toid community, actually.

Check with me for your Halo 3 Friday Night Fights needs. If you'd like to partake, just send me a message saying "FNF" on XBOX Live and I'll send you a friend request or an invite. If you'd like to suggest some maps and/or gametypes, please PM me here or send me an e-mail.
Also, please download the current free Halo 3 maps. They are now required for Friday Night Fights as you no longer have to pay for them. The next batch of maps will be played later in the night due to those costing money. I have to spread the fun around. If you have anymore questions feel free to hit me up on g-talk (Alexandorator@gmail.com).
Make sure to read my Friday posts. Recaps from las week's games will be posted on there. That way you can see what kind of nonsense we get into on Fridays. It's good for you newbies.
Having trouble deciding whether the Legendary Map Pack is worth the $10? Check out my blog post to see if they're right for you.

I thought Grand Theft Auto 2 was a great game, and even though it basically is GTA with a new coat of paint, I still enjoyed it.

Seriously, I wish that had been a real movie and not just an intro clip they put together for the game. It was so good.

I played it a while ago. Loved it. It had this Mad Max feel to it.
