Today was going to be a good day. I had two of my favorite podcasts to listen to. The first was Destructoid's very own RFGO! and the second was GFW Radio (Games for Windows Radio). Retroforce was great. I had many bursts of laughter and had my heart warmed by Niero's mini speech. Once I turned flipped on GFW Radio my emotions went down to straight sadness.
"Believe it or not, the announcement today that we are closing the print publication Games For Windows: The Official Magazine has nothing to do with the Chapter 11 stuff. But it does have quite a bit to do with those challenges I just alluded to. Both the eyeballs of PC gamers, and the essential advertising dollars needed to sustain a PC gaming magazine are moving online at an alarming pace. Much faster, it seems, than in the console world. Fast enough that we realized - and Microsoft agreed- that it was time to put the GFW team's efforts where the most people could see the results: Online. And there, despite the rather large nature of this particular cloud, is the silver lining. (Simon Cox)"
The only positive I can take from this news is that my favorite GFW editors are going to stay on the Ziff team. The podcast is also going to stay alive. That I'm relieved about. I hardly play PC games, but I absolutely love GFW Radio. The editors are moving on to the PC side of the 1Up website.
Here's to many more podcasts and a bright future to the ex GFW staff.
I can't help but be saddened by the thought of a magazine extinction. I love my magazines. I subscribe to three and I look forward to them every month. Sometimes I don't want to sit on my desk chair or have my hot laptop on my lap. I love reading my magazines in the toilet. The internet fails in this regard. It's taking away something I love.

I've done it once. It felt uncomfortable. Especially when I was chatting with someone.

Also, Alex, not to be an ass...but it’s “Lose Their Jobs”, not “Loose”.

You don't have to tell me you're not being an ass when correcting me. I appreciate any corrections from you.

Can we both agree that those people are douche bags? I think that's a sentiment most of us have in common.

Good old Nelson.
In all seriousness though, as a european I obviously didn't get the magazine but the podcasts are pretty entertaining.

Reading stuff online causes thinking, which gives a whole new meaning to the toilet being called, "The Thinking Capsule".
