Crytek called: Your computer sucks.

For a few hours, EA Store revealed Crysis Minimum requirements before it was removed.

Crytek Community Manager Alexander Marschal clarified the matter: "Just to let you know the system requirements have been removed from the EA Store page. The release was accidental and in addition to that these are NOT the final system requirements for Crysis. We are still working on optimizing the game and cannot name the final specs at this stage.

We will inform the community as soon as we have finished our work and have a clear view how the minimum requirements for Crysis will look like."

Here are the Minimum System Requirements that have been removed:
CPU: Intel P4 2.8Ghz or AMD equivalent
RAM: 1GB
Video Card: 6800GT (256mb) or ATI/AMD Radeon 9800 Pro (256mb)
HDD Space: 16GB
OS: Microsoft Windows
Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c Compatible

@bottled:

You should see Crysis 2, you need the whole Earth to run it.

They seem like the normal Min. requirements...'cept for the HDD Space.
That's pretty huge.

I'm hoping to run this game with at least decent settings in DX10. I'm able to run World in Conflict and Bioshock on full settings + DX10, but Crysis looks to be beyond my PC's capabilities. I think i might even have to upgrade again.

I'm starting to think I should have just bought a 360.

those settings arent really ridiculous... though I guess that is only good enough to run it on minimum settings at 640x480...

I can meet all of those requirements no problem, the one possible issue is I only have xp and dx9 right now, I don't really like vista at this point.

I'm right ther with ya buddy. My PC was rebuilt by me about half a year ago and those requirements are nothing to me. Glad my investment in the NVidia 1Gin GTX VideoCard will still hold strong for a while yet.

Pff, fail. I am currently running folding@home at 97 exoflops per second and we plan to have a cure for all diseases within the next 12 minutes.

In fact... oh, look at that, cure for cancer. Sweet. Time to line up, asshats. Forty bucks a pop.

For those of you thinking about upgrading into vista. I would avoid SLI right now. I dont notice any gains switching between single and SLI mode in games like TF2 and Bioshock. one 8800 GTX is very capable of running whatever you want to throw at it. the ultra version is just factory over clocked.. and little bit different fan setup. Other components .. Quad core Willbehttp://ve3d.ign.com/articles/news/304/Crysis-3-Quad-Core-CPUs]usefull
