Neotokyo pre-launch media

Yesterday, the release date for Neotokyo was announced: Friday, July 3rd(two days!!)

In anticipation of the release the game's team has been releasing media for the past few weeks. Yesterday after announcing the release date, they also put up screenshots of the TEN maps that will be ready for play with the game at launch.

Team RADI-8 seems to have accomplished their goals perfectly in terms of aesthetics. Many mods and games cannot fully flesh out their concepts and really surpass their hand drawn artwork with in-game models and environments.

We shall see how the game plays when it goes live on Friday. Until then, check the:
moddb page
twitter
facebook
youtube

From the official website:
Some helpful information about the release...
- Neotokyo will be available for download at various sites and torrent.
- Download links will be released in our irc #neotokyo on gamesurge network during our release party. Then posted here and elsewhere.
- This first public release will contain 10 maps total ...all capture the ghost gametype.
- We recommend max 24 player slots. (9v9 to 12v12 are best as far as gameplay and flow). 32 players is fun but a bit spammy.
- Total size of the installer is about 900megs and unzipped is 2gigs.
- In order to run NEOTOKYO, you need to have any game that gives you the source sdk base installed.

The IRC channel has a pretty lively community attached to it. I've been visiting it for 5 years under the moniker "Jin Dogan".

Trailer:

I posted some pictures but there's way more on the sites I listed.

When you posted the news yesterday and left the release date out, I was upset at you. But then when I realized the release date was on Friday. Suddenly, it didn't matter anymore and I was happier than ever.

Honestly, this looks and most likely IS the most professional mod for source period. I've been waiting for this moment for a long time and I seriously can't wait. Thanks for posting so many updates though, it's good to see someone else so excited about it. (Everyone should be)

Looks very high quality; I'll have to try it out, and you can't really beat the price.

Also, you'd get better reactions from people if you linked pictures of the mod into your blogs. Walls of text and links aren't all that appealing. This trailer was enough to convince me, so you should embed it!

@Nukka: I wish I could tell you everything off the top of my head, but check out their MODDB page or the official site. All of the info is listed there.

@nukka; if you want the specifics, you can go onto the irc channel or the forums to ask the devs and playtesters. I do not have any first hand experience but I've been pretty tight with the community and have gotten many questions answered in those two places. If not, you can always wait till friday to give it a shot!

@arttemis: point taken!
