So, I've come across this game called 'Brutal Legend.' Apparently it has Jack Black in it.

What the french toast.

I'm sick of these games that just take off of styles and trends. Let's make a video game about a hardcore roadie, who can grow FUCKING demon wings and kills beasts with an axe. Oh yeah, this guy is into metal, so lets give him studded bracelets and long hair. Let's just make a random fucking game about bullSHIT and just throw as much shit together that we can.

I like Jack Black, I like him as a person, singer, actor, etc. But come the fuck on.

Ridiculous. I will be boycotting this game.

Let's make a game called Emo, put a shitload of crappy pseudo depressing music in there, and just have the objective for the game is to not get punched in the fucking face or get your hair cut.

Heaven forbid you have your emo hair cut so you can see out of both of your eyes

this game is all about Tim Schafer and the cool game he's been wanting to make for years now. If oyu don't like Jack Black, I can see that being a problem for you. I like Jack black. I like Tim Schafer. I will love this game.

I've played the old LucasArts games, yes.

But you've got to ask yourself, what would this game be without Jack Black? It would be another 'super' 'hero' who has amazing ridiculous powers that he got from eating Zakk Wylde's ass with a spoon.

I'm not denying the genius of Mr. Schafer, not at all, but there seems to be no objective to this game.

Come up with a story comparable to Full Throttle, and you might be able to impress me, just a little bit.

Zakk Wylde is a dickhead too, btw.

You should really read up on this game because it's going to be awesome And you'll be missing out. It's obviously over the top because it's sort of a parody of metal taken to the extreme.

I wouldn't be so quick to judge this far from release. I'm sure we'll have plenty more info in the coming months to help people judge one way or the other. Me? I'm counting on Schafer to make a quality game.

The mistake you're making is that Jack Black is the game. He's not. Tim Schafer is, Jack Black is simply the guy playing the main character.

Since your picture is from the cover of the Game Informer issue that has a huge article about this game, I'm assuming you read it. In which case, how can you say it lacks a good story? I think that article makes it pretty clear that is has a good story that isn't just an afterthought.

I disregarded this initially after reading "Jack Black" and "Heavy Metal". I was like, "Oh great, Tenacious D: The Video Game".

After reading Game Informer's feature on it, my opinion has changed; this is so over the top in it's craziness that it's more like "Metalocalypse: The Video Game" which can't be bad.

Jack Black can be awesome. Please refer to the Tenacious D show that ran on HBO a few years back. Also note the above-mentioned ultra-brain of Tim Schafer, who is not only awesome as well but a class-act all the way. He signed my copy of Grim Fandango for cryin' out loud.

No, I think the trailer video and the GI feature pretty much gives Brutal Legend Game of the Year. Of THIS year, not when it comes out.
