Square-Enix game for iPod up now! Sounds kick a**!
topgeargorilla | 8:38 PM on 07.07.2008 11 comments

Let's cut the crap, iPod games are kinda blah, but here is a game I'm am going to be downloading as soon as I get a chance: Square-Enix's Song Summoner: The Unsung Heroes. It's like a Monster Rancher game for you iPod, where you create "Tune Troopers" from your music. From pretentious indie/folk to hip-hop to classical to "Smell Yo' Dick", they can all make fighters from it. Plus, your music can power up characters too. This sounds AMAZING! Kotaku has a pretty good posting on it, and since I don't really care to write much about you can read it there. Or, even better, go to my videogame blog I write for here, then check Kotaku's link:
Ubergames. And here's a youtube!

This game is availiable now, and only 5 bucks. Hellz Yeahz!

Is this post awesome? Vote it up!

I have just become intensely excited about this game.

Dude, I love this procedurally generated shit. Phase is amazing. Probably not as amazing as I generally hear audio surf is, but still freaking great.

I ... wow mustgobuy!

Alright, I downloaded it and played it. First Impression: Its a righteous score. Decent turnbased strategy battling, a good helping of plot (no amnesia to be found . . . yet) and a few nifty character designs. Plus, there's good composed music for the game!

Only thing, as with iPod games in general, its a battery eater. But its a solid gameplay experience and the scroll wheel does indeed work well for this type of game. Makes me kind of want an X-Com port . . .

That's really cool. You should do a review for it. I can't pick it up until I get a new iPod.

 about me

What's to say? I like videogames, otherwise, why would I be here? Other than that, I'm a college student (UC Berkeley 2010)and I do journalism. I was Co-Editor in Chief at my junior college paper, The Oak Leaf, until I transfered to Berkeley. You can read it online here. I even had a games column which is surprisingly popular, and people get a kick out of it.

I also write for a tech blog at LogicTV. It's a cool; check it out.
