Sin and Punishment any good??
topgeargorilla | 5:59 PM on 09.07.2007 13 comments

According to a recent Kotaku posting that i won't bother with here, The N64 game Sin and Punishment may be coming to the Australia VC, a meaning a strong chance that is will come to the US and European VC. Is it any good?

From how it looks and sounds, it seems really dated. Also reminds me of Red Star, but sucky.

Ok, here's the Kotaku link

Looks like a ground version of Star Fox 64... Not cool.

For an N64 game, this doesn't look like it's aged too badly. Also it's by Treasure, which pretty much means it's good by default.

Ooh! I know what it has reminded me of! House of Dead 2, with the really crappy voice acting!

good times!

It usually gets bandied about as one of those games that You Have To Play when people talk about the N64. I haven't tried it before, but I'd definitely snag it if it ever makes a US VC appearance.

It's Treasure. With a few exceptions, you know it's going to be good.

Haha dammit Treasure you are a fine beast!

Yes the game is good, though I'd be amazed if they released in in the US. It's a Japan only game, even if it's mostly in English... they seem to like to pretend Japan does not exist as far as USA is concerned.

Also Bangai-O is better, but you can get that for DC.

It is a good game, but it has not aged well by any stretch of the imagination. Mischief Makers is less likely to make you squint, but it's also a very different type of game. I have loved every game Treasure has made, but for me, it will always begin and end with Ikaruga.

oh man, i remember playing this game on an emulator for dayz in one of my comp. classes in school. everyone should seriously try and give this game a chance.

Wow, all three of my sentences had identical structure. I sound like a goddamn robot.

Wait a second...

Sin and Punishment is fucking amaaaaaaaaaaaaazing. It's easily one of the best N64 games, hands down.

Looks good, and it's by Treasure so that's immediate awesome. Can't wait for it to hit VC...

People have been raving about this one for years. I'll probably give it a shot when it comes out.

 about me

What's to say? I like videogames, otherwise, why would I be here? Other than that, I'm a college student (UC Berkeley 2010)and I do journalism. I was Co-Editor in Chief at my junior college paper, The Oak Leaf, until I transfered to Berkeley. You can read it online here. I even had a games column which is surprisingly popular, and people get a kick out of it.

I also write for a tech blog at LogicTV. It's a cool; check it out.
