What's to say? I like videogames, otherwise, why would I be here? Other than that, I'm a college student (UC Berkeley 2010)and I do journalism. I was Co-Editor in Chief at my junior college paper, The Oak Leaf, until I transfered to Berkeley. You can read it online here. I even had a games column which is surprisingly popular, and people get a kick out of it.

SO here it is..... I've finally reached the next gen in gaming. With Guitar Hero II, Forza 2, and Marvel Ultimate Alliance, maybe I'm not on the cutting edge, but I'm getting there. Anyway, I've had huge problems with the interenet issue. Needless to say, unpluging the modem in the living room to use in the bedroom makes for a housewide DSL freak-out.

Merry Christmas to me! If anybody knows of anytips, let me know!

Oh, and I'm hoping for a gamertag of TopGearGorilla. I'll post when I finally have that hooked up!

Grats. Well i keep my 360 in the liveing room for easy internet access.but if you really need the modem in your room, get a Lynxys chip for your (or the liveing room) desktop computer. So whatever room you keep the modem at, the other computer will still have internet.

here's the deal: I've had Wi-fi for a while, which is useful for the Wii. The 360, however, is wired, of I took the modem and the router into my room, so the house still has Wi-fi, but I can hook up the 360.

First, DSL didn't want to work; now something caled PPoE isn't connecting. To top it off, we've lost the instalation disk and the name and password for all of the SBC stuff.

it sucks.

oh, and GHII was free.

I just got one too! I'm hoping to get a gamertag of brosef in some form or another up in running in the next few days. I can't do it immediately since I'm at my parents and not my apartment.

Isn't there a dummy Destructoid gamertag that we can friend in order to find other D-toiders online?

topgeargorilla; do what i did. long cable through house to 360. my wired desktop is conveniently near a window thats on the same side of the house as my room; my wire goes through there, across the side of the house and into my room.

Hmm.. well I've had issues with the NAT for the 360, but took care of that in what took 3 fucking days of trials and tribulations.

Anyway, lemme get this straight:

You have DSL, use a router that has wi-fi, but when you disconnect/connect to your wired xbox your internet freaks out?

Thanks for the help.....and it's not the 360's fault. Internet is just a huge fucking ordeal. I've got an installation disk from SBC in the mail, and I plan to add everybody on Dtoid as soon as I can get the fucker going. Meanwhile, internet in the house is gone.....completely, so I have to use alternative methods to visit the Dtoid.

and Jack, I'd love to play online!

Oh, and Jim, I'm gonna get pwned by everybody on COD4. I just plain suck at FPS, but I'll certaily do my best!
