About Me
What's to say? I like videogames, otherwise, why would I be here? Other than that, I'm a college student (UC Berkeley 2010)and I do journalism. I was Co-Editor in Chief at my junior college paper, The Oak Leaf, until I transfered to Berkeley. You can read it online here. I even had a games column which is surprisingly popular, and people get a kick out of it.

I also write for a tech blog at LogicTV. It's a cool; check it out.

Here's my Vox account

And I have a Facebook, but I still don't really understand it. Hit me up if you feel like it!

I live in Northern California. You know, that place full of Berkely and Berkinstocks and Hemp and Hippies and Pichuli Oil and more dirty Hippies. As a matter of fact, I graduated from high school in a town that was run by the Green Party. There are only three other towns run by the Green Party.

I live in a really liberal area, and the publications lean the same way. One, The Bohemian, is a free publication that I pick up at the gym to pass the time on the elliptical machine. Imagine my surprise when I look at the cover, and it's an enormous piece on Guitar Hero, or excuse me, Guitar Anti-Hero.

Inside is a 3000 word feature piece on how Guitar Hero is evil and the poor voice artists are getting ripped off. It's long, dry, and pretentious.

Here are some faults I found myself:
-Harmonix is never mentioned
-80's Edition is never mentioned
-The fact that most of the songs in GHIII are master tracks are never mentioned.

Jeeze, this whole piece is irritating, as they are trying to make a good point, that the non-unionized voice artists are getting ripped off, and instead they come off as liberal dickweeds. Also, this publications is more notable for local industries (wine, food, asshatness), and while the videogame industry is in nearby San Francisco, I see no reason for them to really have written this.

I seriously believe the writer had a friend who got screwed out of a bunch of cash with GH, and this is his bitch piece.

Take a look:

New GH developer Neversoft is in that area so it would be very likely that they screwed a friend of the writer.

You lived in a town that was run by the Green Party? Is it as awesome as it sounds?

Well, I went to high school in Sebastopol, the Green Party town. Really, it wasn't a big deal, except for all of the pretentious self-righteous uber-liberals who think they are better than everybody else. It's so bad, that there are no discussions. It's like to opposite of living in some conservative back-water town, but just as bad.

But the trees are nice.

I actually like Guitar Hero III. It's the first one I'm actually good at.

Well, to be honest, it’s better not to mention the abomination that was Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80s. Also, it isn’t entirely true that “most of the songs in GHIII are master tracks”. Sure, out of the 71 total tracks, 51 are master recordings, but if you only count the main set list of 46 tracks (non-bonus tracks in both career modes), only 25 of those 46 are master tracks. That’s why I liked Rock Band much more — 38 out of the 45 main tracks in that game are the original masters.

I do like the part of the story where it says that maybe the session players should get the profits instead of the stockholders.

That's a good idea : screw the people who put 40 million up front on a game and might not make it back. Instead reward people who took real risk by spending a day in a studio.
