Animation I made!
thisissami | 11:51 AM on 12.06.2008 9 comments

Möbius Life from Sami Majadla on Vimeo.

Hey everybody. This is an animation I made for a couple classes I took last year. I figured I'd put it on here and see if you guys liked it. Just in case anybody gets confused, when it looks like it's restarting in the middle of the film, it's the second generation, not the same exact characters. For those curious, I made the animation in flash, drawing everything using a tablet connected to my macbook. the background is one long strip, and the characters are each drawn at 30 FPS. there's about 15000 individual drawings in the animation. hope you all enjoy it!

What the fuck?

That made me so fucking happy. My friend draws really cartoony kiddy stuff (think Cartoon Network and Nick). I need to show him this.

Consider it bookmarked! How did you make this anyway. I've been trying to convince him to make a short animated video, but he thinks it's too much effort drawing the same picture over and over. Which it is, but he's also very lazy.

At first I thought it was just some short random thing but then it kept going and actually had a story. Pretty cool.

Wow, man! That was really great! I just sat there and chuckled throughout the whole video. I love the way the characters walk, always dancing!

whoa sorry i never noticed all you guys replied here! hopefully some of you guys will eventually see this again.

@RONBURGANDY2010 each of the characters were drawn at 30 FPS, while the background is one long scroll. everything was drawn using a 13" tablet that connected to my computer via USB, and everything was done in flash. exporting this thing was a bitch. flash isn't meant for animations made with a lot of vectors.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?

Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
