This game seriously pissed me off last week with how disappointing it was for me compared to FFXII.
Haha, I got to the end of this game once, and just never finished it, I just didn't really care how it ended, so eventually I youtubed the ending, and it was just as bad as the rest of the game.
its just awful
You didn't really explain why you think the game's boring, yeah there are cutscenes but the story is good, and the battles are fun. There are some issues with the voice acting, but occasional bad VA doesn't make the gameplay boring.
Not that you aren't entitled to your own opinion, I just don't understand what it is about the game that's boring to you from this post.
Stick with it.... I felt exactly the same. The inane dialogue, the awful 'dungeons'. And Yuna. Fuck I hated Yuna.
But as you get into the second half of the game (or maybe last third).... I think it really picks up the pace, and suddenly turns into a really nice game.
I rather enjoyed it. Especially the part where it produced a unbelievably shitty sequel by comparison.
Though I never played XII so I have no comparison. Also, I didn't like VII and loved VI, so I have a built in bias against certain FF games, I suppose.
The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand is pretty good.
haha Bludesign, I think we all have that one or two FF games we HATE, I loved V, VI, and VII, VIII was ok IX, was when it started going downhill, and by the time we got to XII, we started ending up with plotless games that made no sense where battle became overglorified, if you like that sort of thing, then pick up Shin Megami series, but they don't try and hide it the way FF does.
Why stick with something you dont enjoy? I loved X, I like the story, found the battles fun, and think Blitzball is one of the best minigames theyve made yet (and its always possible to win...). But you dont need to have the same opinion, and you certainly dont 'need' to finish this game.
@Persona - Not everyone. I love all the normal, numbered FF games. I do not love X-2, Crisis Core, or XI, but they're all a bit different so i dont count them.
I didn't find the game boring at all, I just found there was simply too much to do for me to handle. I love finishing JRPG's a 100 percent, and seeing the true depth of FF10 and the sheer amount of time needed to finish the game to a satisfactory level, I simply could not envisage myself devoting the time to the game and moved on.
I'll finish the game in the summer, when I have enough time.
The only thing I disliked about FFX was the blitzball mini-game, but for the most part it was skippable. Also getting all the best weapons was too much for me. Especially the skipping lightning one for Lulu's. Everything else was fantastic, and I loved every second of FFX.
I remember loving this game at the time, but I also remember being burned out and flying through the last ten hours. I'd like to pick it up again eventually and see if I feel the same way.
Well, I'm certainly glad to read that I'm not the only one who didn't think this game was the end all be all of RPGs. I must admit that when writing this, I thought the title alone would send someone into a blind fanbot rage or something.
@GamingGoddess: It seems I didn't make my main issue with the game clear enough. I'm sorry, I got caught up in a rant it seems. My major problem with the game is the lack of some action. As mentioned above, all these characters want to do is talk all the time, but I would rather they just shut up and fight.
@Endstiem: I used to hate Wakka with a passion, but I'm starting to come around this time. Thanks for letting me know the game will get better near the end, I've never made it past little more than halfway.
@sylphx: I've picked up Atlus Shrugged, but have yet to read it. I'll look into that book also, I've heard some good things about it here and there already.
@ajaxender: I have to prove to myself that I can finish this game. Then I'll emerge powerful enough to take on any other game, even Magna Carta perhaps... Or not. ^_^
OH NO YOU DIDINT! >=[ Hahaha! Once again, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but if you gave a better and more descriptive reason as to why you found it boring it'd be nice! =P I personally rank this as possibly my favorite Final Fantasy game (this or VI) and I was so engrossed by it I even started to delete +1 sections on the Sphere Grid to replace with +4s, lol.
