So i picked up Rock Band this morning before I had to be at work. I got in 2 solid hours with the drum kit, and I was very pleased. Except for the fact that I am going to have to purchase some rubber stoppers since the entire kit would slide on my floor every time i used the kick drum (pedal). I digress...
So I get home after a long night of working (drinking) and decide I am going to try out the vocals. Wow, was I in for a surprise. So i think back to all of those nights filled with Jager and Tequila (liquid courage) and getting in front of a bar full of strangers and belting out classics from Bon Jovi, KISS, random country artists singing about beer, and my all time favorite; Denis Leary's "I'm an A-S-S-H-O-L-E!". Now after getting off stage at said bar, the crowd would humor me with applause. I never thought I was great, just not as bad as the fat lady who tried to sing Prince before I went on stage.
*no that is not me, nor anyone i know
Oh Rock Band, you have proved me wrong! I can't even make it through 50% of most songs on my first try before I am booed off stage. I started on Hard and have since moved to Medium which has warranted (Warrant, that might have been another good Karaoke band) similar results.
Rock Band, I love thee, why must you taunt me so? Now if I could just get my girlfriend to play so she would stop singing in the shower.
No, the last part is definitely true; you’d know that if you’ve seen any of IGN’s Rock Band preview videos...*shudder*...So yeah, I guess the game really tests your vocal abilities.
