Should I sell my Wii?

After post after post after post about how so many things are sucking serious balls on the Wii platform, I've been considering selling my Wii recently.

I mean, why should I pay the same price as the 360 version of Rock Band when I get half the content? Why should I put up with nickel and dimed to death with games that are sold half finished? Is it just me or is there only one game on the Wii worth playing, and even it has it's share of problems. For crying out loud, the Wii doesn't even have DVD playback.

What do you think Destructoid? Should I sell my Wii and buy a 360?

As an owner of both a Wii and 360, and can say that I get more use out of my 360 than my Wii. If you really want to sell it do so soon because the demand for it is still very high. Either the PS3 or 360 is a worthwhile purchase for you. Just figure out which system's games match your taste and go from there.BTW, Rock Band is amazing.

I think my Wii sucks balls as well and if put in your position I would sell it to get one of the other systems.

My girlfriend, who nagged me to death to get it, doesn't even touch it now and sees it as a waste of money. I play my PSP more than I play my Wii....:(

Uhhh No,

With RockBand you are paying the same amount of money for the same amount of content PLUS what ever those exclusive Wii songs are, you just dont have the option to PAY FOR EXTRA CONTENT.

As for getting games that are incomplete and not finished, you can do much worse on the PS3 and 360. Need 4 Speed had $50 worth of DLC that was already on the disk and my PS3 owning friends still cant play Rainbow 6 Vegas online.

Nintendo (like Valve and Blizzard) has the philosophy that a game can be released on time and never be good or they can take their time and it will be good forever (although they seemed to have forgotten that with Wind Waker and the missing dungeons).

If online is a must and you simply have no local friends to game with than I would trade it in but with Brawl out and Mario kart on the way, the wii is probably hitting its stride.

If it were up to me I would. The Wii is a joke to me (although some would disagree), whereas the 360 has become one of my favorite consoles ever. The PStriples is also coming around (as I'm sure lots of people are going to tell you in about 2 seconds) so you may want to consider that.

I definitely would get a 360 or PS3 Version of Rock Band cause the DLC alone and online play. I agree a gimped version without the online play or downloads would have to be much cheaper to justify it.

As far as selling the Wii really that is a personal call I would not sell mine if only for a few gems on the system SMG, MP3, SSBB, soon to be Mario Kart,No More Heroes and many other good to ok games. Now if you are limited on the funds and think one of the other systems can fill the need better then sell and rebuy a Wii when the price drops just make sure you are sure as I'm not sure stock has caught up on the Wii 100% but that can mean a good time to sell too.

I assumed you already had one of the other next-gen consoles, but I still stand with my comment. My 2 brothers and sister game so I kind of have a built-in avenue for multi-player but if it was just me and I didn't have friends that I could call up and game with all the time I would trade it in for a ps3 or if you are financially challenged a 360

Its a lonely world when you only own the Wii and read sites like destructoid. It feels like you haven't really moved into the current gen yet.

I'd keep it, but if you are that unhappy with the thing, I'd recommend the PS3 over the 360. We're always looking for new recruits to play with online.

Brawl is fun I guess but it just doesn't have the same feeling as Melee did. Mario Kart, for me, is a huge meh. I have no doubt it'll be fun every once in awhile but in the past, I played Mario Kart for like the first month and I haven't touched any of them since.

The 360 just has so many more games I enjoy. Oddly enough so does the PSTriplez. I love me some Ratchet and Clank and Drake's fortune. And FFXIII is coming out for PS3 only. =/

It depends. Are you a huge fan of Nintendo 1st party properties like Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Pikmin, Smash Bros, Animal Crossing and so on? If so, keep it if not sell it.

I'm considering selling mine as well. Haven't played in since January and I'm sure I could easily sell the Wii + my games/accessories for $400. That would nice.

I too have have Wii60 package, the Wii made me lose interest, but after getting the 360 last month it brought me back into gaming harder than ever.

Seriously though, I love my 360 and it gets waaaaay more play time than my Wii ever will. Even so, it's nice to have for Brawl and VC, plus any other good games that may come out for it.

If you do decide to sell it and you intend to play online a lot I would simply look at what ever system your friends have since you seem to have equal interest in the exclusive games. Ideally its nice to have them all but that really isn't always an option. I would also take into account if you have an HDTV if its newer or older(mine doesn't support 720p and since the PS3 doesn't have a scaler cross platform games work better for me on the 360) and do you want a Blu-Ray player etc.

I have a wii too, but i think i would discourage you from selling it because a lot of great games are coming out for it this year and the wiiware channel will be really amazing. A lot of developers are making some really interesting things for it.

If i was you, i would sell all your other possessions and buy a 360. Thats what im doing. I desperately want a 360, but i know the wii will be picking itself up off the floor soon.

If i was you, keeep the wii, save, skimp and sell for the 360.

Yeah, that's probably what I'll end up doing. After really thinking about it, I'm not sure I can just sell Brawl after spending all that time on it. And I do want to play Mario Kart. Seeing as how I just bought a car, however. I will have to wait until I have more money.

Keep your Wii, save some cash from your next couple paychecks, and get a 360/PS3 and Rock Band in a few months. I've always regreted selling my consoles even if I thought I'd never play it again. Something awesome will come out or you'll get the itch to replay a title you've previously finished.
