Coincidentally, I have that same guitar poster.
According to the manufacture date on the console, it lasted 1 year and 4 months before meeting with the Red Ring of Death... I guess that's a good amount of time. It was only in -my- possession for less than 2 months though.

the rrod warranty is 3 years, which means that launch consoles are covered until until 2008, so i'm good as far as time goes, however, since I bought it 2nd hand I don't have the original receipt for it. I really hope Microsoft isn't going to be a bitch about this.
Mine was a launch console and it RRoDed a few months ago. Funnily enough, I have a bunch of friends who all still have working launch consoles, and use theirs constantly.
Hopefully MS wont stuff you around, but I have a feeling they won't bother really. Anyways Good Luck!
