Nintendo to enter computer market
taumpytears | 10:45 PM on 04.26.2009 9 comments

Earlier today I was poking around the internet when I found this. If this is something Nintendo plans to go through with I would expect an announcement at e3. Some of the more interesting bits are the two screens (one landscape and one portrait), The possibility of running WinXP, and a distribution system for movies, songs and magazines. I would write more but I have some school work to do so I will leave you with this.

Sorry if this is old news.

I can't see that happening, they're probably just toying with the idea. I imagine the patent is just so that should the opportunity arise (to enter the computer market) their idea isn't stolen or something.

You are probably right, but I can still dream.

Imagine if that computer was made out of Nintendium. Then I would never have to worry about breaking anything on it if I ever want to open it and tinker around with the insides. It'd be a dream for a tech geek like me come true.

Hah, given how crappy the Wii is from a hardware/functionality perspective I wouldn't use a Nintendo built PC if they paid me.

Why bother doing this? They don't need to dive in to other markets.

I agree with Kyousuke. As much as the idea of a Nintendo-made computer intrigues me, it really isn't necessary. Nintendo should stay where they know what's up instead of risking a ton of money in a totally different market.

Then again, it worked for Microsoft if the opposite direction, so who knows.
