My thoughts on the GH 80s Soundtrack

1. "Holy Diver" - Dio

A cool classic metal song. Way too easy, but the solo should be decent fun to play.

2. "Metal Health (Bang Your Head)" - Quiet Riot

One of the better hair metal tracks in the game.

3. "Nothin' But A Good Time" - Posion

Meh. As you'll see Im not a huge fan of hair metal (yes I know thats like half the songs in this game) and this is no different. The note chart looks fun though.

4. "I Wanna Rock" - Twisted Sister

Even with what I just said, I love this song for three reasons: Goofy. Goober. Rock.

5. "Lonely is the Night" - Billy Squier

Though I was upset that they didnt pick "The Stroke" instead, this is one of the best songs ever to come out of the 80s. Easy looking, but an awesome song.

6. "Synchronicity II" - The Police

I'm not a big Police fan, but at least this one is a bit different. Cool sound effects.

7. "Heat of the Moment" - Asia

Holy shit no. As much as a "classic" as this sing is, its fucking retarted. Just a terrible, boring, cheesy song.

8. "Shakin'" - Eddie Money

Who by what now?

9. "Bathroom Wall" - Faster Pussycat

Though when I first heard the title of the song and band I groaned, this is one of the best songs in the game. The riff is awesome and the chorus is catchy.

10. "Round and Round" - Ratt

The solo is really cool, and this is a cool hair metal song, but the note chart looks very repetitive.

11. "I Ran (So Far Away)" - A Flock of Seagulls

Holy shit. When I first saw this song was in this game I nearly cried with happiness. One of the best and cheesiest songs from the decade. My favorite song in the game.

12. "Play With Me" - Extreme

Wicked song. Amazingly hard and awesome note chart, with and awesome solo and intro. I hate how they took out the "curunca" guitar sound in the beggining, but this going to be awesome and challenging today.

13. "18 and Life" - Skid Row

One of the crappiest "rock ballads" Ive ever heard. Ricky was a young boy? Who gives a shit. Screw ricky.

14. "Balls to the Wall" - Accept

Cool metal song.

15. "Only a Lad" - Oingo Boingo

Terrible cover but a really weird and great song.

16. "The Warrior" - Scandal

Alot of people are happy about this but the song is way too easy.

17. "Radar Love" - White Lion

Not really happy with this. A cover of a cover of a mediocre song? Weak.

18. "We Got the Beat" - The Go-Go's

At first I thought this classic track would be really fun to play. Then I saw the note chart...

19. "Caught in a Mosh" - Anthrax

Wow. This looks amazingly fun. Seriously one of the funnest looking note charts Ive seen in any song in any GH game. Amazing. Great metal song too.

20. "Hold on Loosely" - .38 Special

Cool little song. Cant wait to see what the note chart looks like. Hopefully fun.

21. "No One Like You" - Scorpions

Not a big Scorpions fan, and I dont know why they just didnt make everyone happy with Rock you like a Hurricane.

22. "Seventeen" - Winger

Thought it would be another meh hair metal track, but the note chart looks amazing and the solos look really challenging.

23. "Turning Japanese" - The Vapors

I lol'ed and cheered when I heard this song was in the game. Cant wait. This is going to be the big song for drunk buddies.

24. "Wrathchild" - Iron Maiden

What the hell? This is the Maiden song they chose? Still amazing that they have Maiden in the game, but I wish they chose something more challenging or from NOTB.

25. "Ballroom Blitz" - Krokus

Booooooooooo! I love this song, but Im dissapointed they didnt save the Sweet version for GH3. Im unhappy, but Ill still rock this track like crazy.

26. "What I Like About You" - The Romantics

At first I thought, "meh". But after hearing the song and seeing the note chart, I was pretty pleased. The cover is very boring sounding, but this is going to be a hit at partties.

Overall:

Im not extremely happy witha all of the songs, but alot of them sound really fun and since I finally 5*ed all the carrer songs in GH2, I cant wait to rock out alot this summer!

 about me

Hey guys, my name is John, I'm a really avid gamer and I enjoy checking out the newest gaming news just as much as playing them

Some of my favorite games are Portal,Rock Band, Galaga, Call of Duty 4, Halo: Combat Evolved, Gears of War, Shadow of the Colossus, Resident Evil 4, Forza Motorsport, Super Mario World, Super Mario Bros, Elite Beat Agents, Mario 64, Star Fox 64, God of War, Lumines, Goldeneye, Oblivion, Pokemon Red, The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay, and a whole lot more I cant remember now!

Im not a fanboy to any particular side, I like good games and I hope all companies do well so I can keep playing great games! I only "current gen" consoles I own are the 360 and Wii, but I purchased all 3 last gen and hope to purchase all three this gen too! I own both a PSP and DS.

Im not a huge fan of JRPGs or most Sports games, but I am usually very open minded to any type of game. I am usually more of an action gamer and I am an advocator or games that bring great atmosphere and story to the table. I have a bad habit of not finishing games and probably have only completed 10 or 20% of the games I own.

Some of my personal favorite gaming moments include getting the Log in Guitar Hero II, "Still Alive" at the end of Portal, and trial and erroring one section in Dead Rising over 20 times until finally beat the impossible time limit in a feat I wish I had recorded or something.

Some of my favorite non gaming things:

Shows: Arrested Development, Red vs Blue, Monty Python's Flying Circus, Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Office (UK and US), Simpsons (older stuff), Futurama, South Park

Movies: Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Lawrence of Arabia, Citizen Kane, "Planes, Tranes, and Autombiles", Raiders of the Lost Ark, Original Star Wars Trilogy, No Country For Old Men, 2001: A Space Odyessy, This is Spinal Tap, Finding Nemo, The Truman Show, The Aviator, Saving Private Ryan, and There Will Be Blood

Music Radiohead, The Who, Arcade Fire, Soundgarden, The Strokes, The Hives, Beck, etc.

Weird Stuff Im Obsessed With: Disneyland,In n Out Burger, Calvin and Hobbes, FoxTrot

Hope to see you guys around!
