I'd rather they work their asses off on a chunk of a game than make a pathetic whole game like every other movie-game out there (with 1 or 2 exceptions like Riddick)
LOL I found that Samantha Ryan quote a little confusing when I read it earlier today as well...
Yeah I'm not really on board with these "Episodic" games... Just seems like another way to nickel and dime.
I just cant get my head around The Watchmen being playable as a game?
I don't think this will end well...
@Gantz: THe problem is, that's not the way episodic gaming works. Usually, they put a lot of work in developing the engine and basic backgrounds, character models etc and then just reuse them over and over. They won't work their asses off for this, they'll put in half the effort they would for a full game.
please don't do it, Deadline Games. Please?
I think real fans will let it pass by. Let's face it, Watchmen isn't for your run of the mill gamers/comic book readers. Its for those of us who want real depth and real, flawed characters in our stories. I don't think this will be the problem you think it will be. Also, the movie trailer is amazing, to borrow Chad's word.
The reason this game is going to fail is because it isn't going to capture any of what made Watchmen great and play off of those strengths. What we can expect is Marvel: Ultimate Alliance with different characters and maps. There is no way this can be anything close to good.

I like to hold The Watchmen in very high regard (the Absolute version of the comic is ridonkulously fantastic) and the movie is enough to get me wary (despite the awesome trailer) but a game... no thanks.
Don't get me started on the movie. Then again, I actually didn't have that much time for V for Ventdetta either, after the second viewing. Overrated.
Watchmen: The Game:
Become Dr.Manhattan and look on indifferently as people die!
Slaughter minor criminal offenders as Rorschach!
Attempt rape as The Comedian!
Fail to get an erection as Nite Owl!
All culminating in the climactic final battle where you permit Ozymandias to kill millions of innocents, then see that he suffers no repercussions!
Looks like they've got 5 episodes right there. :D
@Superhobo
Why the non-love for the movie, i think its shaping up nicely but my only reservation is trying to fit it all into one movie...I mean the pacing of the graphic novel is pretty slow at times, so thats my only concern. The trailer did make me a little giddy.
