According to European gaming news site
Eurogamer, Newcastle studio Relections is once again working on a Driver sequel, this time under the watcful eye of new owners Ubisoft. While the last couple of Driver games were far from up to scratch in a post GTA world, the original game can still bring a tear of nostalgia to this gamers eye.
In the BBC footage (linked below), we see a flashy red sportcar which, at least to me, looks ort of cel shaded. Eurogamer describes it as "a stylised and slightly cartoon take on reality"... so Team Fortress with cars then eh? Nothing wrong with that in my books! It seems therefore that this may well be a (much needed) reboot of the series, indeed Ubisoft boss Yves Guillemot was quoted as saying that he bought Driver to "go into the racing business". Now while racing and Driver might not sit together in your mind, I'd like you to think of this. Wasn't racing around a city, banging of other cars and generally having a good time with the camera mode half the fun of the original Driver? I'll leave it up to you to decide.
