I might be the only fashion obsessed person on Dtoid, but this is too weird and great not to post. WWD reports that sartorial mastermind Karl Lagerfeld will be a DJ on GTA IV's K109 station, spinning electronica and dance as well as blabbering in his signature flaming fast-talking cadence. In case you have no idea who I'm talking about, Lagerfeld is one of the most influential designers ever, he currently heads up Chanel. Yes, motherfucking Chanel, bitches.

What's really refreshing to me is that Karl, as old and revered as he is, would be totally cool to do something like this, which is pretty much outside of everything that he does. But I think he's crazy and smart enough to enjoy a fun side project like DJing for GTA. I'm slightly disappointed that he didn't design any clothing for the game, but hey, maybe in GTA VII Paris Fashion Week? Heh.

I'm sure it will be a while until couture designers ever really collaborate with game developers, since those two circles never really meet, but it would be fucking awesome to see some edgier designers create fashions for game characters. And I'm not talking about Mark Ecko and whatever crap hip hop companies have already done. But say, Vivienne Westwood could outfit the rockers in Guitar Hero or Rock Band... Alexander McQueen could design crazy fantastical outfits for Final Fantasy... Ann Demeulemeester would do gothy frocks for Castlevania... It will probably never happen, maybe just in my fantasies, sigh.
