Online I enjoyed podcasting, I run Podcast On Fire - "It's Asian Cinema, in a Podcast". Been running it since October 07, total of 25 shows so far as well as at least 30-50 Deleted Conversations/Outtakes etc. So it's pretty much obvious that I'm huge fan of Asian Cinema, been collecting movies for 5 years now and I have probably 200 imports, everything from the old old VCDs to the latest Dragon Dynasty release.
For Gaming, I started out with a Commador 64, playing games like; The Last Ninja 2, this thing with a duck and terminator two, it's all pretty vague. Then I got the usual consoles growing up; Game Boy (Loved playing Legends of Zelda Links Awakening), Sega Mega Drive (I think I only really played Sonic and Theme Park on it), then there was a gap until I got a Playstation w/Final Fantasy VII and once I managed to get into the style of Final Fantasy 7, it became my life, I collected 6, 8 and 9 after that, but only completed 8. I then moved onto the Playstation 2 where I bought and played Final Fantasy 10 (I managed to complete that) and several of the Dynasty Warrior games (with my love of Asian Cinema, this game was so much fun). With the X-Box 360 and Playstation 3 coming out I couldn't decide which title to go with, then one day with far too much money on my hands I ended up buying a X-Box 360, I've had it for nearly two years now and I love it! (even thought I've had to send it back and forth for repairs twice, bloody red light!). This year I also bought a Nintendo Wii and this afternoon I bought a Nintendo DS Lite (15/08/08)!
For Destructoid, I love the community, I wish I was more of a part of it, but I don't know too much about games and their developers, although I'm hooked on all of the sites podcasts, I started off just listening to Podtoid, then tried my luck with Retroforce and thought the show was great! With Podcastle starting up I thought it was another fine edition to my iPod.
I've also tried really hard to get into the Euro FNF, but I've managed to have a game of Call of Duty 4, a free-for-all on Shipment where I ended up coming in second :D I must clear my friday nights for more gaming sessions
So Games I'm currently playing now;
Orange Box (HL2: E2 & TF2)
Braid Trial Demo Call of Duty 4
Final Fantasy III
After my last post, I thought I better post a game related post before I get my balls chewed out.
Browsing HMV today, I looked over at the "Coming Soon" for 360. Ignoring Halo, I noticed Smackdown vs. RAW 2008, Assassins Creed, Kane & Lynch and Call of Duty 4 - ALL COME OUT ON THE SAME DAY!
Whole crap which do I buy? i'm not fussy for Kane and Lynch, I'll rent it.
But now it's a triple threat over which game do I buy? I want to buy all 3, I buy Smackdown vs. RAW each year, because I love GM Mode and I follow the wrestling (obviously), I loved the look of Assassin's Creed, it was as if Prince of Persia and Hitman made a baby and what a baby it is. Call of Duty 4 looks great, I played/completed Call of Duty 2 and I recent got Call of Duty 3 in August, not completed yet more important things have happened; Gears of War online (achievement whoring), Sonic, Texas Hold'em and LOTR: BM 2.
So I'm thinking do I splash out £120 and buy all three? Part of me says yes, I have plenty of money lol wait, i shouldn't say that. No wait I should *gush*
Smackdown takes top priority for me. I could just hint COD4 and AC as x-mas presents along with a Xbox Live Gold Card. Although I still do have two free months given to me from X-Box after my poor wee console died.
I'll let this debate rest for now, but I do want to mention the game of Texas Hold'em on XBLA tonight, some guy talked through the whole match "Thanks for the chips", "Worest High Stacker ever", "Can't believe you played pocket 9's", out of the 8 players we ended up in the final three. I was chip leader, he kept raising $1,000 each hand. It got to a point where i was pissed off with this bloke and slapped the mute button on him. Luckily a pair of pocket Kings, the river played out as; 5 hearts, King of Spades (do we need to know more), yes I put his pocket Jacks to shame and it felt great :-D
This game had been playing for over a hour now, i told the bloke my time is up, we played all in and the better man won, but i got $9,500 for my troubles.
