Yup. I couldn't stay away for more than 10 minutes. But I had to tell the world what came. I got The Legend of Zelda for the NES. It freaking rocks. I'm on the 5th dungeon and think it rocks. It combines elements of exploration, combat and problem solving into one pick gold cartridge.
That should bring my NES collection up to about 15 (if you count SMB and Duck Hunt and 2 games).
The stack looks slightly impressive.
This is the list so far:
LEGEND OF FREAKIN ZELDA!!!!
Excitebike
Duck Hunt
Super Mario Bros.
Cybernoid: The Fighter Pilot (hardest game ever)
Zanac
Legacy of the Wizard
Blades of Steel
Tecmo Baseball
Startropics
Rad Racer
Pin*Bot
Defender 2
Gyruss
Gauntlet II
Thanks Nintendo
Ok. I promise I won't post again in another 10 minutes.
The first run of the Zelda cartridges for NES (Zelda and Adventure of Link) came in that shiny-gold-esque plastic cartridge.
Every Zelda packaging since then has incorporated the gold motif for the first run at least. I think A Link to the Past was the weakest one, with just a shiny stiff card overlay in the shrink wrap (I think...)
Come to think of it, most of the memories from my early childhood are to do with videogames. Good times.
What is the game at the bottom of the stack labeled "VAG"? Needless to say, I am intrigued by the title.
I too am curious about the "VAG" game at the bottom. That's written in marker, right? Because as an 8 year old I searched and searched, and was all but positive there weren't any porno games on the NES (Bubble Babes notwithstanding).
That tough sonofabitch.
Damn game gives me nightmares!
