Yup. I couldn't stay away for more than 10 minutes. But I had to tell the world what came. I got The Legend of Zelda for the NES. It freaking rocks. I'm on the 5th dungeon and think it rocks. It combines elements of exploration, combat and problem solving into one pick gold cartridge.

That should bring my NES collection up to about 15 (if you count SMB and Duck Hunt and 2 games).

The stack looks slightly impressive.

This is the list so far:

LEGEND OF FREAKIN ZELDA!!!!
Excitebike
Duck Hunt
Super Mario Bros.
Cybernoid: The Fighter Pilot (hardest game ever)
Zanac
Legacy of the Wizard
Blades of Steel
Tecmo Baseball
Startropics
Rad Racer
Pin*Bot
Defender 2
Gyruss
Gauntlet II

Thanks Nintendo

Ok. I promise I won't post again in another 10 minutes.

That's great, but don't get over enthusiastic. Remember every time you post something, you push another person's article down. Some people put hours into their work, so the very least you can do as a fellow member is give their article some time to be read by not posting too often yourself.

Thanks. I'm hoping to get a couple more games soon. I don't think it's the collectors edition. The auction didn't say it was anyway.

@Kohlstream

The first run of the Zelda cartridges for NES (Zelda and Adventure of Link) came in that shiny-gold-esque plastic cartridge.

Every Zelda packaging since then has incorporated the gold motif for the first run at least. I think A Link to the Past was the weakest one, with just a shiny stiff card overlay in the shrink wrap (I think...)

I remember back in the day when my older brother won a copy of Zelda and a NES. I think it was a Nintendo magazine competition or something. My mum brought it to our primary school during lunch break to show us. Was amazingly cool.

Come to think of it, most of the memories from my early childhood are to do with videogames. Good times.

Nice, man. Is this your first time playing the game, or any Zelda game for that matter? You just seem really enthusiastic about it, whereas many people are like "Yep, another Zelda game" since they follow the same basic formula.

What is the game at the bottom of the stack labeled "VAG"? Needless to say, I am intrigued by the title.

Also, my collection of NES games, sorry for the bad picture, I just took it on my webcam. I need to fix up my NES and replace the pin connector, though.

Cybernoid!! This game rocks. But man, you're not kidding about how hard it is. I had the whole thing memorized when I was a kid, but I tried playing it the other day and could barely get through the first few screens.

I too am curious about the "VAG" game at the bottom. That's written in marker, right? Because as an 8 year old I searched and searched, and was all but positive there weren't any porno games on the NES (Bubble Babes notwithstanding).

Haha yea.. VAG. Thats actually the Zanac cartridge. The G is a C and the V is an N with one line ripped off. The A is ripped off the Z is just badly written. Lol

Damn, you should have just left me wondering if a mysterious vagina-oriented game ever existed on the NES. Zanac is cool too, though.
