So out of frustration, I decided fuck buying a cheap Madcatz controller and undertook the process of modding my own 360 controller into my own arcade stick.
#1 I don't know anything about soldering before starting this
#2 it turned out a bit expensive, since I had to buy a ton of things I was not aware I needed
#3 I Do know a bit about working with wood
#4 this was a crazy fucking idea
What I did learn, its too damn big, soldering is hard and sure its kinda ugly, BUT IT WORKS.... video coming later
Very nice! Especially since you've never done anything like that before. I'm really impressed. I know how to solder, but I would probably lose I limb if I used power tools to build the box.
That looks pretty cool =D, just a few more colors, some soda stains and an old melted bubble gum and it will feel just a like a regular arcade board :)
Good job - electronics projects are fun, especially when they are as functional as this. the DIY controller sounds tempting, I have a couple extra wired 360 pads lying around... :)

a few hours worth of work, more time was spent waiting on parts, and this thing has been kicking ass for more than half a year with little issues

Can't wait for the video.
@10bob i thought about it, but i got lazy and didn't want to figure that out...
@agentMoo to be honest, you have to be a bit brave but it was not too hard to do
